Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

It’s probably been done.  As a trailer queen drag car, but done.  Use case matters.  Drag cars don’t turn, and ultra front heavy weight distribution helps prevent wheelies.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Jeez! What were they driving and how did they not die when the tire blew out!!!???

There's been so much speeding during the shutdown. I've been a little more cautious of that as I'm sure the cops are watching out for it. Empty roads = people taking more risk, generally speaking. haha the car hasn't really been driven in about 10 years other than the quick test drive after mods. It's been in storage since 2010 and just pulled it out last year to start working on it again. I thought driving a race car around town would be awesome until I got introduced to a racing clutch.  That cured me.

Might not be.  One of the built in obnoxious aspects of American law is fines are set to punish the poor not the rich.  The owner of Menards hardware drove a flagarantly illegal lambo around a rural Wisconsin town for years. Thing no joke rattled nearby windows.  Thing was not vaguely street legal like 5 different ways.  He was so rich he paid the fines and laughed.

It’s an even bigger deal with corporations.  Then it’s will we make more money following the law, or breaking it, killing a few people, and paying the fine?  The math is added up including profits, court costs, at tourneys fees, and delay time, and if b is bigger than a (and it often is) people die for the profit of others.

Doesn’t happen in Germany.  There fines are scaled by income so the ticket always hurts. It’s absolutely amazing how well German drivers adhere to laws when they actually apply equally.

Right wingers in Germany hated that law.  Did the same as was done in the US.  Pointed at the money it made for the government as if that was the point.  In the US it was the “death tax” making money was never the point of inheritance tax.  The point was the prevention of dynasty of the useless.  What it did was stress an inherited company.  The new owner had to prove he could do the work.  They could have taken the money, put it in a pile and burned it and it would still have been a good law.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

And yes, lawyers can get you out of almost everything. The legal system is ruled by money, as is everything else. For instance, if I was a business man, it'd be more economical for me to speed and pay fines than be late in some cases.

I'm hoping there's some car knowledgeable people here in the car thread..

I have this car jump starter.  It works well using the jumper clamps...but the output to the cigerate lighter...I don't know how to use it and the poor instructions don't say.

(It IS output. There is another used for input to the unit).

Anyone give advice on how to use it?

So that's a no.

That's not the context I was aiming for, it was more like you'd rather pay more insurance and fines (on spirited drives or stuff like that, wasn't going for commutes but sure) over "dishing out" 200$ on a wheel. But hey, whatever floats your boat.

I assume it would be for throwing some charge in a weak battery that you don't want to or can't hook the clamps up to.

The cigarette lighter in your car is fused, typically at 15 to 20amps, so you can't start a car with that level of current, but you will slowly charge the vehicles battery off of it. If you've seen some other places on the internet, they sell little solar panels that sit on your dash and plug into the cigarette lighter to trickle charge your battery.

Desktop: i9 11900k, 32GB DDR4, 4060 Ti 8GB 🙂

idk just wasnt expecting 7500 to paint a car. always felt that's almost a showcar price where your fully tearing apart all the panels and doing that, where as their not painting anything like door jams or anything. this is just exterior

Looking at the receipt, the paint alone cost 1400.  Was it maybe custom color or really unusual paint?
