Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Pre PPF I hope!

Still running my M140i. Now sporting a fetching dent in the rear door having stupidly dropped a petrol pump nozzle on it. Literally the first bit of damage on the car since getting it back in Feb 2018 and nearly a week later I'm still livid.

PXL-20210913-114511532.jpg

Still toying with upsizing to a 340i or C43/63, but work has a pretty good electric car scheme at the moment so I might take advantage of that.

my Wife´s car had a couple of these dings, because our parking buddy, did not know how to open a door without hitting our car... even though she had LOADS of space.

But, even though they looked like this, i paid like 500dkkr for a panel (80 bucks) and got a guy to knock them out, took him 1 hour, and you would not be able to see the dings afterwards just incredible what they can do with a hammer, and some leverage on the inside.

Yeah I'm going to get it PDR'd, annoys the shit out of me every time I walk up the drive so it has to go. There's a good local guy I've used before, only about £75 a panel.

Another update on my model T project.

I have rebuilt the differential/rear axle, replaced everything that was bad.

it sure looks good.

I have also shimmed the driveshaft to correct position and reassembled the rear axle.

I will soon be able to mount it to the frame, I have to change some bushings where the rear spring mounts to the axle and mount rear radius rods.

I understand the work that goes into fully restoring a car, its insane. But theres something about cars that aren't restored, just taken care of for its life that makes them better to me.

It's all original except the paint and wear items, he's had it 40 years.

Also, screw you Honda. Why you put bolt here!?

Odyssey? Not sure what you are getting at though. I have been starved on interior work lately. About all I have got lately has been fakra warranty stuff. Which isn't bad, but getting boring. If I have to pull another radio in a pilot/passport I might fall asleep.

The awful location of that bolt hold, 16 Accord info-taintment system. Owner did the $1000 poke and broke the digitizer, we sent it out to get repaired. I have small hands and thin wrists and I had a heck of a time getting that bolt back into the hole due to the module adjacent it. Other bolt was in the clear.

Ah, I haven't messed with that generation accord at all really. Also why I guessed Odyssey because I don't do them too much either lol. Didn't recognize it at all. 8th gen civics have a similar bolt for the radio. Its a pain.

Got an interesting question for y'all:

I've always been annoyed that my snow tires rub my wheel well when I turn, in reverse only.

I run 255/40/21 for my snow tires and run 245/35/21 and 265/35/21 for summer tires. They are within 0.1 inch circumference of each other. Seemed logical to get 255 as snow tires so the total amount of tread with all around is the same patch size. And putting 245 on the rear seemed like it would be too small for the snow.

I bought my snow rims some years ago and never paid attention to it because they were relatively cheap and I didn't really know about offsets and shit. The ones I got are 20x9 with an ET of 30, which I now know Teslas stock rims are 21x8.5 and 21x9 with an ET of 40 on both.
I always chalk it up to the tires being 255 instead of the 245 but now I'm pretty sure that 10 difference is where the rubbing problem comes from.

I only just noticed this when the tires I have bought 3 sets of over the years now have a note when I go to buy them that says they should be installed on ET40 rims, which is why I checked mine and found out they were ET30.
But whatever I've been using thise combo for ages now and it's all good. So I'm gonna keep doing it I suppose.

Why would tires care about the ET of a rim though? Like what does the spacing have to do with mounting a tire to the rim? Since the spacing more so applies to how far in or out the wheel sits from the hub. Am I missing something here?

dual zone climate is kinda useless anyways and doesn't seem to work incredibly well in such a small space like a car. Just close your vents if you're cold
