I’m not gonna say what happened because ins claims and all that but I found out today Touaregs hold up extremely well in accidents compared to nissans.

So you got cited for failure to yield. Went down like this...You looked and it was clear, you pulled out and got clipped, Nissan continued into the truck. More exactly you were driving across the intersection which was flagged as stop or yield and almost cleared the road which had right of way when the Nissan clipped you and spun you, the Nissan was diverted by the impact with your VW into the side of the Ford which was going in the opposite direction of the Nissan. That's why the Nissan is hit on both sides of the front so far back and your vehicle has little damage.

The roads are garbage here and with all the SUV’s and trucks on the roads I like to better my odds at surviving an incident lol. Hence why i was dailying a 4700 lb tank.

 

i went get my rubber floor mats and plate from it today. I’ll try to find another one. Hoping it’ll at least be an even trade all said and done. (And that the other driver doesn’t try to come after me with lawyers or something, that’s what I’m most worried about tbh)

I love the older Treg’s, I think they are actually nicer cars than the newer 3rd gen ones. just had a lot of issues.

imagine working hard & saving to buy the first car you've ever bought that maybe there wasn't anything special about it, but it was just a nice, clean and well-kept car with 0 issues, and you paid cash for it in full, and then you ruin it all by crashing it a few months later.

It really makes you feel like dirt. it sucks.

exactly! If the parts wouldn't be so dang expensive I'd maybe be OK with it. But geez. At least they sorted most of that out with the third gen, I think 2013 onwards they sorted pretty much all issues and those are the ones to have. It just wasn't as nice of a car though. And in the US you couldn't get a rear locking diff anymore.

But I still love the giant fuel tank, the crapload of room in the back, comfortable ride, and how well it's built... it's just a solid car. I also averaged ~25mpg in the thing, better than advertised, although I have a mainly highway commute. (any city driving I did it seemed to get like ~18 and it was very hard to get any more than that really). And the interiors, although they aren't the nicest interiors, they hold up super well judging by the ones i've seen with over 200k miles. 

They just do everything you could ever need a daily driven car to do from a utilitarian standpoint. and I think they were underrated. Also no one knows it exists and everyone thinks it's a Tiguan.

Customer who setup the appointment said it was for a Tiguan. Was displeased to find it a Toerag that had to be unlocked from park and pushed across the parking lot because the vehicle was locked out because steering column codes. Brake lights are stuck on, killing the battery, and possibly dead battery is cause of steering column code issue...maybe. Maybe not. Gonna do what I can do with it, then do what they were originally coming in for (some kind of noise and a t-case motor possibly), then anything else weird is gonna be a dealer problem cause any module is gonna need programming.
