Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Its usually good practice to replace the lot. The other injectors will try to keep up with the fueling capability of the new one and have a higher chance of failure

I wouldn’t say it’s a matter of Injectors competing with each other; but more that just replacing one might make the engine run funny since one cylinder may have better combustion than all the others. It’s just best if they are all evenly matched and spray very close to the same amount of fuel with each squirt

I mean, blowouts can happen with literally any tyres

Most common causes are...

Under inflation

Over loading

Sidewall impact damage

Excessive age

All these are things that can be prevented by looking at your car more than never and looking for flat tires, tire titties, and following the placard pressure and loading information.

Just going off experience and what I was told when mine went on the clio. One failed, replaced it and then a few hundred miles another went. Was told its bc the old ones work harder to match the new one and thus wear out quicker

GearWrench - KDT-3289 GEARWRENCH... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002SQWY8

Got that to make oil pressure checks easier, everything has VVT now which is more sensitive to low oil pressure as they rack up miles. This also lets me see oil pressure right off the pump to compare it to a pressure sensor on the engine, some are up in the head or behind stuff and impractical to access. It's not perfect but it's a lot easier, I hope.

Pre PPF I hope!

Still running my M140i. Now sporting a fetching dent in the rear door having stupidly dropped a petrol pump nozzle on it. Literally the first bit of damage on the car since getting it back in Feb 2018 and nearly a week later I'm still livid.

Still toying with upsizing to a 340i or C43/63, but work has a pretty good electric car scheme at the moment so I might take advantage of that.

Well that was fun, one of my fuel injectors decided it was done with life this morning. At least they’re easy to get to, just two bolts holding the fuel rail and nothing else in the way.
Are injectors one of those things that when one fails the rest are likely going to also fail in the near-ish future? Or is that treated like more of a one-off and only replace the failed one? Car has 150k miles on it and as far as I know the injectors have never been replaced.

You can replace one and take the rest for ultrasound cleaning and flow measurement. That'll be enough to know their condition 😉 Injector has just a coil inside.

Yes they can but running around with tires like that is just asking.... No.... Begging for it.

It’s so funny, but it prob makes a decently significant difference since 5hp is +25% in this situation lol

The original 'honda guys' meme!

But seriously, it may only be 5hp but I bet it's a lot more torque. Also don't forget bore diameter alters CR too, so if the block was bored up its raised CR as well.

Now when you mentioned it, it says 060 on the cylinder heads since it has gotten a total renovation at one of best model T engine guys in Sweden.

I'm very excited to drive it and compare the power (lol), to other model T.

You can calculate CR from compression reading, bore, and stroke....I think.
