Statements that trigger tech fans.

Armakar

Title.

What are some tech-related things that people say that trigger you or other tech fans?

Personally, when someone says "memory" when they mean "storage" it makes me cringe. I once even had a phone-repair shop employee tell me " the ram is what gives your phone its speed".... I felt bad and didn't wan't to tell him how wrong he is so I just pretended like I had no idea about how computers work.

EDIT: Well, this thread blew up.. Apparently i'm not the only one who gets triggered at false statements.

"Why didn't you just get a macbook?"

"Macbooks are just... better, you know?"

As a university student in california... this is all too common when laptops come up.

- "I need a laptop for my classes. something that can browse the web and can write up papers real well."

- "OH, just get a macbook pro, they're really good laptops! they just work!"

Sorry, was supposed to be torrent. Typed it out, but Google tried to control my life. Keyboard changed it for some reason. Sometimes I really have smartphone technology. Change it from "autocorrect" to "autowrong".

I fixed my post.

When the sales guy who is trying to reach sales says something like "solid state hard drive" when trying to sell a laptop with pure SSD storage. ?

Poor “solid state drives” having their identities stolen due to naïve salesmen. ?

as i get older i sort of appreciate the nicer hardware now days. Like a Blade  Macbook surfacebook. Though in the past i always saw it as a waste of money still do to some degree but it has shrank a lot of how much i think its a waste. Id really love a light and protable gaming/ nice laptop. if macs just had a better GPU i dont think they would be as bad imo in there price brackets

The moment the smallest issue comes up they freak out, swear, get mad then I say one thing to walk them through it. "I cant handle this, I dont know anything about computers, phones...etc". Drives me nuts. Like no shit you know nothing about it, it why I am walking you through it talking to you like a 5 year old so you can fucking understand me.

Most Mac users I know could get the same level of productivity on a Chromebook..

Productivity = (YouTube && Facebook && clicking news click bait)

Glad you didn't 1k+ for $250 worth of work.

The thing is, that's actually a thing.  SSHD, form Seagate (iirc).  It's got like an 8 GB SSD build in as a cache, but is otherwise a normal HDD.  Not the best name imo but it is a real one.

I'm triggered, pls stop.

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace.
