I used to not mind iOS as much - meaning, I wouldn't want it on my own phone, but using it was just fine. This was on my fathers iPhone 5. He then recently got an iPhone 8. iOS on that is, in my opinion, absolutely horrendous. It costs me insane efforts to even unlock the device, or go to the opened apps menu, whereas this was all very straightforeward on his iPhone 5. So since then, my respect for iOS has decreased significantly.

On iOS 13 with 2GB of RAM on my 6s, I can have apps that I haven't touched for a day and they'll be immediately ready as soon as I bring them back to the forefront via the multitasking menu. I'm not sure what the deal with Android is, but with my A5 2017 and my new Galaxy S5e, that was not possible. Often times applications had to relaunch completely even though these devices had more RAM available. This is in addition to the device not shuddering periodically which is a common occurrence for my two Galaxy devices.

Do you think it's still running on iOS 11 or 12? According to Apple's website, it should be on 13.5.1, and I would expect it to be updated, but using the device is still a vague mystery for me. :P

Hmm, interesting. I tried opening a few apps I haven't opened in a while on my OnePlus 7 Pro, which is now a little over a year old, and they both opened as fluidly as one could wish. On my OnePlus One, which is now nearly 5.5 years old, it's also quite good (better than I expected to be honest :P). It might have something to do with specific devices or manufacturers (version of the OS), that make slowdowns more common.

Well. My dad has a 2007 Toyota Camery. The only major work he has had done to the ride is two front struts and a front hub I think. It does have some paint issues but thats because the dealership did a shit job painting it after the tree limb fell on to it. So I can concur that some foreign cars are defiantly built better. The current plan is, he will give my nephew the car when he starts driving, so in about 6 or so years. I defiantly think it will be around and still working.

I use a Bluetooth headset. Does that make you want to cry? I mean its a Sennheiser H4.40, but its still bluetooth. Also I use earbuds for sound on my TV.

That's a pretty normal opinion to have. I mean, to each there own, sure. But if someone kicks me in the shin and says "oh sorry, it's because I'm an Aquarius"  they are trying to justify their actions based on nonsense. I can't just go around and act like an entitled asshole and claim it's because I was born at the wrong time. People need to take responsibility for their actions.

I dont think the idea is unpopular, but most certainly the practice itself isnt common.

"Spend more on your Display than you do on your GPU, as much as 2 times GPU cost"

Basically the display is THE thing u looking at all the time, there is no point buying a $500+ GPU and then looking at what it produces on a sub $300 display.

I have a bunch of other non techie related opinions that are most certainly not popular, but they're way to 'spicy' for here :P

I got a few more.

Apple isn't a horrible company, and is actually important to exist for the consumer.  This doesn't mean I think their pricing is the best or everything they do is the best.  But they're the biggest competition to Microsoft on the desktop, biggest competition to Qualcomm in ARM CPU designs, and the biggest competition to Google on mobile devices (and biggest competition to Microsoft again on the tablet market).  As well as the biggest competition to Spotify on the music streaming platform.  They are very much needed to keep the market competitive in any meaningful way.  I think at least 50% of the hate they get, is because it's super popular just to hate on Apple.  I think a majority of the people who hate on Apple have never truly used an Apple product, or they might have used their cousin's sister's dog's friend's baby momma's first gen iPod Touch back in 1892.  (slight exaggeration).  Then they regurgitate everything they read on some Apple hate twitter page or subreddit.

This doesn't mean I think they haven't made some stupid decisions, such as the continuous thinning down of their laptops.  The removal of magsafe.  I think they could have included both USB-C charging and magsafe.  The butterfly keyswitches also, or even having to charge the Magic Mouse 2 from the bottom.  These are just examples.

Second one, I no longer care about PC gaming as much.  I'm actually hyped for the Xbox Series X and PS5.  I like Sony's exclusives and the Series X being backwards compatible with enhancements on all previous gen Xbox games is super cool to me.  Like I have a huge 360 collection so for those to get some enhancements is just super dope to me.  I will be waiting for the eventual console redesigns and price drops, but I do plan on getting both.

Third, I think Nintendo has both too many defenders and too many haters.  Microsoft and Sony release yearly subscription services for online play, $60 a year.  People do bitch some, but they don't really care.  Oh look, you get two free games a month, go away.  Nintendo does a subscription service for $20 a year and they basically use their back catalog of NES and SNES games as Netflix for gaming.  "OHMGEEEEEE NINTENDO IS LITERALLY SATAN."  While defenders try to find ways to justify, say, using a phone app for voice chat.  How about Nintendo hits up Discord on the offer for online chat services, while they keep giving the "netflix for gaming" for $20 a year?

Fourth, and probably my second most unpopular/controversial after the Apple thing.  Microsoft gets a lot of hate, imo, cause it's an American company in a predominately Japanese led industry.  After Atari came and caused the crash (at least in the US market), the gaming market has been predominately dominated by Japanese companies.  Nintendo, Sega, Sony.  Microsoft is an American company, and the first American, let alone western company since Atari, that has been able to throw punches with the big Japanese companies.  This doesn't mean they're successful in each market. Hell they can't even break into Japan with the Xbox One and that's their most successful console there.  Microsoft has made some stupid blunders, especially with the launch of the Xbox One, but they also have a nice variety of IPs that looks like they're finally utilizing with the Series X, and they always have a decent variety of games on their consoles.  Out of all my game collections, Microsoft has always had the most variety of genres on their consoles.  When it comes to first/second party IPs, Microsoft is right behind Nintendo in variety of their IPs also.  And even now, as much as I am a Nintendo fanboy and I love Sony's exclusives too, Microsoft is the most consumer friendly company right now, and them even going as far as to publish their own games on the Switch, let alone Gamepass, prove this.  They're just as important and influential to the gaming industry as Nintendo and Sony.

Currently focusing on my video game collection.

It doesn't matter what you play games on, just play good games you enjoy.

Yeah my feet are like a turned on tap. ;) Even in winter they'll end up sweating inside my shoes. :D

I also somehow can't stand low cut socks, I just have regular socks and then push them down a bit. :P

I can agree to that. I live in an area that's seen recent rapid suburban sprawl and there's nothing within walking distance of my house. You have to drive down a few sweeping parkways before getting to the shopping center.

Even my high school is pretty far. It'll be closer once they finish the new parkway. 🙄
