My highest count was 6 in a row... I remember the days when it was one 10-15 second audio ad every like 1-2 hours and no pop up ads. Those were the good old days.

Yeah... I'm curious whether or not that means they make no where near as much as they do from subscriptions? It's a lot of audio ads (can't even mute them), and a lot of free users, so surely it must be somewhere near their subscription revenue.

For people like me that aren't big into music but still enjoy listening on occasion paying for a service like this spotify isn't worth the money. Especially when there are other alternatives still.

Adds seem to be loud everywhere. Even the TV wasn't safe from this: shows and movies were quite quiet, and you had to bring the volume up. Enter commercials... Suddenly ridiculously loud.

 

And then we got the same with YouTube's video adverts. And apparently Spotify too... I think we can see a pattern here...

Also some TV channels in the US are sped up slightly... So they can have more fucking ads instead... 20 minutes of episodes,  and 40 minutes of ads.

Indeed, this likely will drive many back to Piracy.

 

However, if this is in fact true, it's 100% the record labels fault. Spotify doesn't exactly have a lot of bargaining leverage compared to these companies.
