RTX 20 Series Cards Confirmed With Pricing

I love how everyone is getting butt hurt over the price. Can't afford it? Go get a 10 series then. Your performance will be fine.

Want to enjoy ground breaking Ray Tracing in gaming? Save up your money to enjoy it.

The level of performance that these new cards have is insane and damn near triple or more than the 10 series.

Stop. Complaining. About. Price.

Especially when the 2070 now beats a $1200 Titan XP.

I'm not sure a 2070 beats a titan XP. Ill wait to see actual benchmarks from reputable sources. If it does, then I'd grab a 2070 instead of anything higher

AMD Ryzen 3950x under a Noctua D15S, 32 Gb G Skill FlareX 3200 DDR4 running at 3200 CL14, Gigabyte Aorus Pro 570 Wifi, Gigabyte 2070 Super hooked to a Dell U2718Q 4k HDR monitor & an Acer 1440p 144hz IPS panel of some kind, an Inland 1 TB M.2 PCIE 4 main drive, a Samsung NVME M.2 250Gb, WD Blue 500Gb  and 1 TB SSDs, Corsair RMX750, Rainbows and butterflies...

@Max_Settings you might want to update the OP with the prices from the livestream.

The MSRP for the third party cards seems to be:

2080 Ti - $999

2080 - $699

2070 - $499

Exactly, getting the 2080 or the 2080 Ti would just be dick waving and vast overkill.

Note that they only said in ray tracing. These cards might be the same as Pascal in overall speed, but just include the ray tracing tech.

I wonder what the raw fps boost will be, ray tracing aside. The whole rhetoric seemed so ray tracing-focused that I have the feeling they have averaged performance around this feature.

I hope not, my wallet hopes yes, we'll see.

yes, and we have AMD to blame for that.

Navi only comes next year, I don't expect prices to drop until then.

People actually paying these ridiculous prices are to blame. Gamers have proven time and time again that they suck at voting with their wallets. Inb4 the resident Nvidia fanboy (not you) hits me with "hurr durr, it's not our fault you're poor" even though AMD's prices always follow Nvidia's

The end result is this, I game on a 4k 60hz panel... my 1070 ti hits 45-60 FPS at decent settings, if there isnt much of an FPS jump I'll save my money for now. Raytracing maybe cool and earn bragging rights but in the end if you dont have a panel of sufficient quality to be driven by such a card, I'd say upgrade your monitor first

Why are people thinking that the 2070/2080/2080Ti is a direct replacement for a 1070/1080/1080Ti and therefore should cost the same?

Is the name not enough of a hint?

And why is everyone surprised by these prices?

If you think that the price to performance is off, then don't buy it. The 10 series does still just fine - or at least my 1080 does. ^_^

Few things:

In the UK, the Nvidia 2080/Ti cost the same for both the FE and board partner cards roughly speaking. there are a few cards that dip below FE prices by £50 but thats about it.

For the price increase, I think it is a viable think to complain about prices. Yes, people are able to afford it and yes, it is an expensive hobby and you could get into much more expensive hobbies... Then again, prices ARE going much higher, and here we saw a tier or two jump in price, which was not here before. It made a few changes, like people calling 1070 a mid tier GPU, which was high tier before. Thing is, Nvidia has monopoly over the market, as AMD GPUs are still expensive and not near the Nvidia performance (in gaming, not crypto) which means, either you buy this, or nothing.

Also i need more than 2-3 titles to enable RT to get a new GPU just for RT, unless it can be enforced to older games

RTX 2080 Ti Fastest NVIDIA card right now: https://ift.tt/2nRMcKr

Love their conclusion

"While we certainly expect the RTX 2080 Ti to be faster than its predecessors, the real question is by just how much. From what we've seen on stage, it appears that games will have to be optimized to take advantage of the RTX capabilities. And that's really the reason you'd shell out for a card like this. For this price range, you'd want a bigger upgrade than just a slightly higher frame rate."

I want steady 60 fps at 4k and RTX and HDR and ULTRA settings to justify the price tags

I'm thinking of upgrading.

If I got x2 RTX 2080 Ti for GB £1560 which is what appears to be the pricing reported.

This would compare to what I paid for my current x2 Asus GTX 980 Ti STRIX via SLI

8 July 2015: (pre-order)

£584.08

10 February 2016 (for new build in June 2016)

£599.99

Yup. When compared to other hobbies, it's still pretty cheap.

As PC gaming gains traction and more people get into it, of course prices are going to go up. Not to mention if the 2060 can slaughter 1080p, these higher end cards will have an even smaller market to sell to.

I don't believe I mentioned budgeting. Students and teens are more likely to have low incomes.

Budgeting is a personal choice. With a student or a teen, it's more of a matter of fact; they can't work as much, as they have studies to focus on.

It's not about other hobbies being more expensive, or age. Disliking that the price of GPU's keeps going up because of the near monopoly from Nvidia has nothing do with age or income. Nvidia put a price increase on these cards again because they can. PC gaming isn't gaining that much more popularity, aside from games that almost run on anything like Fortnite.

Anyone know when any of the reviewers will get their hands on sample to report on?

I'd love to see what happens if you pair one of these supposed beasts with a mid-tier CPU such as a 2600X from Ryzen or an i5

Its a cost rise of 25% from what I can see for the tier 1 - premier card.

To what it was from 2015. Inflation per se, doesn't explain a 25% price increase.

Beyond the fringe case of someone showing off his rig to a friend or VR, most of us stop paying attention to shadows and lighting once we're engaged in a game.

$1200 is a lot of money to most people, good job or not. If the market is strong enough for their gpus that selling at $1200 maximizes their profit then of course it makes sense but damn I would have never expected an entertainment product like a graphics card to be so price inelastic. I hope they aren't, gpu surely isn't a price inelastic good like healthcare, food, or water to me. That's crazy IMO seeing the GTX 570 tier of cards go from $330 to $1200 in eight years and the GTX 560 tier go from $200 to $600 when inflation is only about 15% in that time period.

The GTX 970 launched at $329. This is launching at $499. DDR6 is 30%+ more expensive than previous memory. So that definitely plays into the price increase. Really, it's not that bad of an increase. I know more people now that play games than I did before; there's lots more people getting into it.

Why does being angry about a $300+ price hike mean you're poor or shouldn't be in this hobby? Anyone would get their feathers ruffled by it, no matter the hobby. That's a big jump. Imagine the outrage if nvidia priced their top end i5 at $500+ next gen. No one would stand for it, but for some reason when it comes to gpus and nvidia in particular we're just told that we're the ones at fault for being angry. That we should just accept it because that's how things are.

Edit: I realize the joke of 'top end i5' but I meant the i5 k sku that everyone recommends each gen.

You know what's easier than buying and building a brand new PC? Petty larceny!
If you're worried about getting caught, here's a trick: Only steal one part at a time. Plenty of people will call the cops because somebody stole their computer -- nobody calls the cops because they're "pretty sure the dirty-bathrobe guy from next door jacked my heat sink."
