Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

I watched a jacked up f250 on what looked like 24s and some thicker tires that was almost up to the running boards with a bed full of people driving around looking for stranded people. Almost took a screenshot and posted it but decided against it.

The one reason I want a big truck :P My area tends to flood quite regularity every summer due to us being where the water from 4 different provinces drains into. Only way we haven't flooded out is due to a giant "Floodway" built to divert all that water away from the city.

Winter? Well we tend to get massive amounts of snow and get snowed in every few weeks :P

When I get that f350 dually its gonna need a large amount of balast put in the bed when we drive over to eastern oregon for christmas. Yeah its 7,000 pounds but none of that is over the ass end. I'm thinking probably 500 pounds of sand bags up against the tailgate will do the trick.

haha yeah it doesn't help when the weight isn't over the driving wheels xD We have to load down the back of every rear wheel vehicle around otherwise traction a dream lmao. Although I find front wheel drive cars are really fun when its just had a massive dump of snow but its warm enough that everything is slush xD You can drift like a madman without trying!

The one i get will be 4x4 of course, but theres 4 tires in the back and two in the front so...

The S10 floundered last time we got a little but of snow and I tried to pull away from a red light and it was funny as shit. it started to just spin and at about 2mph and had to counter steer until about halfway through the intersection it found traction and i was able to drive straight. funny shit.

So technically 6x4?

A 6x4 would be a dual rear axle, with only the rear axles driven, like a semi truck.

6 total wheels with 4 driven.

Only thing i've ever driven with quad tires in the back is something like this

Really? I kinda count the 4 rear wheels as being driven because they're all connected to a drive axle.

So are the ones over here. Which means first time fillups are a bit nervy xD

Gas caps are on opposite sides on the golf and the camaro. Gotten it wrong a few times.

Looks like a calm day though.

When I was learning to drive my dad had me pull into a gas station and that was a nightmare (aided by the assholes around here) Guy literally got so mad that I couldn't pull out that he parked his car in front of mine and went to pay for his gas and just boxed me in.

lol yeah I really want a 4x4 but rear wheel is much more common and usually cheaper. Also when I go looking for 4x4 most of the time something is wrong with it and I know nothing about fixing it at all :P Also I want an older 70s to very early 90s squarebody and those don't usually have 4x4 unless they're rust buckets that are only worth scrap

ahahaha! My friends car got stuck on a freshly graveled road a few months ago. That was fun to get unstuck...

Right, but that's the concern was that water get in there. I think its a lot less of a worry on a tansaxle than just a diff. Water gets in there a fucks everything up. Like @techswede axle, and seen some other videos about water getting in a fucking everything up.

I went and bought some full synthetic 0W-20, a K&N oil and air filter and some trans fluid. Just gotta find the time to do it, since I'm in classes part of the day or out partying xD

for future reference, don't bother with K&N oil filters. they're not that great for the money. ;)

iirc honda's like thin gear oil tho... i think Honda's OEM fluid is on the thinner side. So just stick with the syncromesh

Its 5w30 with friction modifiers.

@FuzzyYellow Honda calls for 120k intervals on MT and AT fluid. I'd half that personally.

Finally got around to changing my oil in Japan.  Found out they do things a bit differently here than in the US.  3000-5000 km oil change intervals with 6000-10000 km oil filter changes.  Interesting approach for kei cars, but ultimately ended up going for the more expensive oil filter.

Oddly Japan isn't a very DIY culture for basic things since trying to dispose of used oil is a massive pain, so looks like I'll be frequenting everyone's favorite auto shop... Yellow Hat.  What it lacks in crappy plastic hub caps is made up with the horrifying array of LED interior lighting options.

Last time it did this it wouldn't run at all after it happened. I think it's just the plugs being old. I haven't had a chance to put my plugs from my old engine into this one. Lord knows how long this engine has sat, it is 17 years old with 24K miles so..

yeah more than likely something might've fouled the plugs, but that's probably from first start.

and maybe drive maybe a week or so then change it idk.

Probably going to do it after a few hundred miles, then again around 1K miles, then see it from there on out

They're the plugs that came with the motor, so who knows how long it's been since they've done anything
