Why isn't there an in-between option? I don't try hard to get PC parts for cheap, but I also do not burn money to keep myself warm, I have folding for that :P (lol just kidding, my GPU doesn't get past 80 degrees folding on max power so I'd call it a success).

Well, my job didn't require any skills and the pay was therefore ok. I still think I deserve better that´s why I quit and study computer science :)

I mean, I get it.  There's a good number of people who consider paying a good amount for something to make it a status symbol.  'Oh yeah, I plopped down full price, no biggy.  I can afford that, ya know? :3'  It's also, ya know, stupid.  I have more props to the person who finds a deal and the right coupon code to tack on top of that.  Simply put, even if you can afford a big ticket item, if you can find a way to pay less for it, like shopping around, finding discounts, waiting for a price job, sitting on your purchases till Black Friday, and such, then they can afford MORE items while spending the same amount of money.

 

I have a good, solid income, but I'll still buy discounted third party BluRays on Amazon that ship from teh US and don't have tax applied to save a few bux over Prime.  I'll look through eBay for things.  I'll wait 6 weeks for delivery if it only means paying $0.75 for each 90CM SATA cable for my server overhaul.  I'll shuck on sale external Seagate 8TB USB drives to get the 8TB Baracuda Pro inside at a huge discount.

For my current job the compensation for my work is kind of ok... what lacks is the compensation to be a kindergarden teacher as well for the coworkers, and a mommy explaining stuff to the higher ups that have no clue... 

 

So no... I don't get paid enough...

It matters in two circumstances:

1. You're below the poverty line - pretty much no matter how well you pinch your pennies, you're still going to struggle.

2. You're filthy rich. I mean like Oprah level rich. When you make hundreds of thousands of dollars per day, you probably don't need to budget daily stuff anymore :P

Lol been working at the same place for 7 months and still make $7.25/hr they quoted me $12/hr. I make more mining cryptocurrencies than I do actually working

I get free monies from taxes, but when I sell and upgrade its usually only on average £500 a year out of that.

 

Also I eat caterpillar fungus to try get help for my issues. It tastes bad, even in tablet form. I retch for ages after each swallow.

civil service in an electric company that is owned by the city. My job was to sort the incoming mail and put the outgoing mail into envelopes. The other part was to help in the marketing department with whatever they had to do for me there.  It was a relaxed job but that´s all.

Myself, not sure if I get paid enough for the work yet, just finally landed a civi job.  Woooo, finally after two years of no full time job.

Still, I probably keep doing what I do for computer parts.  Lurk sale areas on forum boards and buy 2nd hand hardware.
