I know it's a leak. I just took issue with how you stated it as an absolute fact.

Leaks, rumors, speculation, projections, nothing like that should be stated as fact, because it's never reliable. It could be right, but it could also very easily be wrong.

I am not but it looks to be very close to real if it isn't and so far it looks correct off of what we know

No, it's a very bad time. The stock is overvalued even if Zen is highly successful. It's 5.5x the price it was a year ago, its record low, even though its finances have not remotely improved. The AMD bubble needs to burst and deflate back to $5 a share before it's a morally recommendable buy.

It may not be as good a buy as a year ago.  But I think you're forgetting that vega will launch around the same time as Zen.  Thus stocks may rise a little more. However the risk of them plummeting due to lower then expected performance is high.  So you would have to be really good at reading the market in order to jump ship at the right time

Would you shut the fuck up about Dresdenboy?

He has a decent track record regurgitating some (basic) leaks, but he isn't an official source nor is his track record perfect. NO ONE HAS A PERFECT TRACK RECORD OF LEAKS.

He pulls from sources THAT HAVE BEEN WRONG before.

Not he, nor anyone else publishing leaks, should be trusted 100%.

We WILL NOT KNOW Zen's capabilities until Zen is out for preliminary review THROUGH 'TRUSTED' PUBLICATIONS such as LMG/LTT, 3DGuru, Tom's Hardware, etc.

It's good to see that the hype train is still running on rumor and false hope.

Seriously though, wait for actual benchmarks. We don't need a Piledriver situation.

no it's not

if you establish your product as a rating to something that already exists, you establish yourself as a 2nd place manufacturer - and that is fucking retarded

Or its showing that you are direft competition is an easy to understand way.

Look at it this way: John, who knows nothing about computers goes to best buy. He has to pick between a laptop with an i7 or a c64-j. Hes gonna pick the i7, because its easily recognizable. Now, if john is comparing between an sr7 and an i7, the decision makes a lot more sense, he can at least understand that theyre the same tier.

And then they add an A for a CPU with iGPU. Next thing you know they make an ASMR CPU that makes odd noises that sound oddly sexual and creepy, thus making any game you play into a horror game. Have fun!

The risk is much greater than the reward imho, and both Zen and Vega would have to exceed market sales expectations enormously to cover the gap in market cap and financial health that reflect the real price of the stock (roughly $4.98 coming from a former financial stock broker).

The thing is it probably will hurt zen to some extent.   If zen turns out to be haswell level,  which many rumors put it at,  many will still be disappointed that it doesn't beat skylake like other rumors have said.  Remember the 480 launch?

People were thinking that it would rival the gtx 980 because of rumors,  despite the fact amd never stated that. People can't keep their expectations in line with reality.

And about the "overclocker's dream"  thing: that was said by a engineer in charge of cooling,  not someone with knowledge of the chip itself and  at what frequency the product would run at.

You don't think the engineer in charge of cooling the processor is going to know what speed it runs at? What? Do you think all employees in a company just work in their own little bubbles? lol

No,  they probably don't.  In fact, i would argue that  even the chip architects don't know how fast it will run until the very end.

Nope, he got Phenom II, the end of VLIW in graphics, Bulldozer, Hawaii 2816-core when everyone else predicted 3072, Vishera 5GHz, and predicted no steamroller FX before AMD ever announced a damn thing, to name a few.
