If this is true then that's awesome.  Also I expect Intel to reduce their prices to stay competitive once this comes out (assuming the performance is true).

I could actually see this as being a somewhat believable price. Zen might offer performance close to Intel's top end, but they can't promise the same features. And to that end, as much as they'd like to price to match with Intel, they can't. And they know that now.

I don't know why he said it, but I think it would be best to avoid the 3/5/7 scheme unless you mimmic Intel's specs at this point. Or maybe they just want to make it so the SR3s always beat i3s, the SR5 beat i5s, and so on, in case consumers pay attention to names instead of physical characteristics...

Yeah, if this is true, AMD is probably gonna wreck shit, especially if intel doesnt do a major price drop if performance is similar, but if PtP is similar then I'd probably hit up AMD finally, I like my cores.

Yeah but if it is better than the 5960x (doubt it will be, but oh well) the 5960x performs better than an i7 6800k which is around the price of this SR7.

Im not sure if that makes any sense, but basically it should be better than the current gens 6800k for around the same price.

no it's not

if you establish your product as a rating to something that already exists, you establish yourself as a 2nd place manufacturer - and that is fucking retarded

If I could buy a 4th or 5th gen i7 for 150 I would. if the price is right them being behind a few gens won't matter. I mean the newer gen intel processors aren't that much better than their older gen.

I want an SR9, because 9 is my favourite number, Intel just call your 5960x and 6950x an I9 instead of I7Extreme edition

Don't bother. @zMeul is the resident AMD hateboy. Apparently, AMD violated his young person, and now he has gone on a mission of vengeance to take down the mighty AMD with many a shitposts on the interwebs.

And that my friend is why places like the LTT forums or the couple active sub reddits exist. And if the consumer cared about what they were buying, they'd actually do research, watch benchmarks ECT.

Wait so your saying having a bunch of random numbers is easyier than a generic value for (hopefully) close to the same speed processers? To me if a see a x8736 and x8865 that's confusing which is the better quad core/hyper thread etc If it said sr5-8736 and sr7-8865 you know instantly which is the higher end chip. Easy to compare cross brands too. Atleast if the lvls of performance are compatible if not the naming sucks.
