yah thats how they should do it IMO, im going to save up to get a Zen hexa core if they are any good probably because i 1: want to support AMD so they dont die 2: want more threads because im starting to find streaming quite fun(Internet is still shit tho and i cant do anything about that :/ )

I am genuinely interested in the 6core Sr5 (Currently on 3770K@4.2 Ghz)

As if it fails

Amd has undercut intel before in the core 2 quad days. the core 2 quad was 1000$ but similar ones from AMD were 600$. intel then drooped the price by a few hundred $$

Expecting a Brawl b/w them

yah the hexa core will be for me the most interesting processor, i do nothing that can use the threads but i feel that it could use some more CPU horsepower for a future GPU upgrade

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

Who cares about the name? Frankly I don't care if AMD called their next CPUs the 420MLGQuickSkope69RadicalFeminestPotatoes. Performance is all that matters, at least to me.

that would've been better than to name their CPUs in comparison to Intel's

as for who cares, I discussed it in a previous post

A2 is the last level of engineering sample, so no, not a prototype.

No, AMD's Blender benchmark was rigged with custom code. Post-launch 3rd party reviews will confirm this.

The only legitimate Zen benchmark we have puts it solidly behind Haswell at the same clocks and core counts.

the only " legitimate* "... because so far there is only ONE source. Who is just as likely to be wrong as anyone else.

Science, and benchmarking for that matter, is based on checking, checking, checking and checking again. Not reputation, nor popular opinion.

The thing is it probably will hurt zen to some extent.   If zen turns out to be haswell level,  which many rumors put it at,  many will still be disappointed that it doesn't beat skylake like other rumors have said.  Remember the 480 launch?

People were thinking that it would rival the gtx 980 because of rumors,  despite the fact amd never stated that. People can't keep their expectations in line with reality.

And about the "overclocker's dream"  thing: that was said by a engineer in charge of cooling,  not someone with knowledge of the chip itself and  at what frequency the product would run at.
