get used cheap mining mobo or thread ripper stuff.

but yes case cane be limiting factor. very much

oddly mis mad a 4 gpu mobo for thread ripper.

issue is you need water cooling set up to do it.

SLI won’t do anything for folding. Just run them as separate GPUs

I know SLI doesn't help fold, but I do occasionally game on this machine.

It's possible the extra clock and, more so, the extra cooling on the Titan black could result in a few more frames.

I'll find out when USPS shows up today.

If I just wanted another GPU to fold, I would just buy two K80s instead of one.

551,876 in 3 days with 2 GTX 650 Ti Boost 2GB Superclocked and one GTX 750 running 22/7.

I would have more, but I didn't set myself up with a passkey so I spent 4 days gaining no points.

I am pleased to finally be over 10K work units, while hovering very close to 1 Billion points. It is unfortunate that the badge cheese was moved for Legendary status, but I also understand that new cards are churning through years of work and the points needed to be adjusted.

I remember when I was happy my GTX 570 did over 15k PPD.

Now my 3060 Ti gets the same points in 1 day of work as my GTX 570 did in 200 days.

I really wonder how the coming years the PPD wil evolve. Half a billion points per day? Those rankings will have a decent amount of numbers in it....

Definetly!

I power limited my 3080 a little bit but still have an 5M estimated PPD.

Not to mention how much more power efficient per point this card is compared to my GTX 970 before... 🤔

I just made nearly 7 million points in the past 24 hours.  That's not altogether impressive, but it's a little shocking considering those points were made with 4 GTX 1070's that normally pull a mere 4.3 million PPD.

Guess there were some ca$h money work units in the pipe last night!

F@H stats were down for about a day, they just updated and everyone got a huge spike in their 24hr points. You'll notice your average will till be the same, since parts of the points were from the previous day.

Screaming through the points after finally getting my new vidya card in my new system. Was getting around 2.5 million a day from both my desktop and laptop combined. Now my estimate is 6.3 million according to the folding@home app with just my new desktop. Hope to fly up some rankings 😄

**Note: I will probably have it off while gaming, but otherwise, will probably keep it going.

Man, XOC's data updates are extra sporadic. But I'm just shy of 1.25B now, so thats cool!

image.png.7f152650f214d814a215a1cc7d3f8e8e.png

At current pace (just shy of 3m ppd), by this time next year I will have dropped to 66th (way down from 33rd) and will be around 2.3B.

  • 2 weeks later...

A few cool "milestones". I've entered the top 2,500 in the team rankings, in the top 20,000 of the world, and in less than 2 weeks since my last post, I did over 200 work units on my own. 😄
Difference in team rank was over 1,500, and difference in overall rank is 9,000 😄

Next goal is 1,500 team rank, 15,000 rank overall, and getting over 100 million.

**Note: I've turned my power from full to medium. Due to cold and an inefficient heater for my house... I'm consuming around 300kw of power a day right now.... and my electric bill is predicted to be $550 right now if I keep going as I was. Still doing stuff, but instead of a constant 6.5 million points, I'm ranging between 2 and 6.

Congratulations on the milestones! A $550 electric bill (assuming monthly) at the rate you're going doesn't sound right. I think your power consumption math is off. 300 kilowatts a day would be (300000 watts x 24 hours)/1000 = 7200 kWh. 300 watts per day seems realistic which becomes 7.2 kWh per day and a $55 electric bill would make much more sense. However, if you've built a computer that guzzles 7200 kWh a day please provide a picture because I'd love to see it.

Oh, it's not just the computer. -_- it's mostly a crappy furnace that came with the house. The house was built in 1999, but the furnace was built in 1995. We also recently had temperatures below 0 at night recently. It jumped from the normal 150-200kw/day to around 300kw/day, since it's a heat pump, and the larger the delta in temperature, it multiplies how much power it draws. Sub zero temperatures with 10 inches of snow last week.... 60f degrees today. The $550 was projected if I kept using 300kw in a day. (current prediction is still a $350 bill though)

My computer should only draw somewhere in the area of like 500-600watts. The power supply is only a 1kw power supply, but I was just trying to save "some" kind of money XD

I only moved into the house a little over a month ago, so the furnace will be replaced probably before next winter... just need to save a little for it.
