Starting January 1st, 2021, we will be handing out awards based on new higher folding badge thresholds. These new values have been decided due to the increase of power a GPU can provide; this has made it much easier to achieve badges in recent years. Anyone holding a current badge will be grandfathered in! This means you won't have your badge downgraded after the new thresholds come into effect.    F@H Badge Thresholds In order to be rewarded with the Folding @ Home badge, please

Milestone for me today...... got on to the LTT Team leaderboard....  Now, position 980 so plenty of time to improve... but still... :) Happy days!

Hit LTT rank 70 today. Its somehow been fun watching and climbing the ranks since I joined back in March. Its interesting reading and comparing our computers hardware.

 

For anyone interested, my rig is a gaming PC which I haven't really been playing games on it much recently: intel i9 10900x 10c/20t, 2x nvidia 2080 Ti's with nvlink, SLI disabled in control panel. 3x 1440p screens. My 2nd 2080 Ti was bought mainly for FAH.

PC has a 1600w platinum PSU which while running FAH uses 800-850 watts from the wall @ 245 volts.

I always keep my CPU restricted by 50% to 5c/10t for the FAH client.

Seems yesterday night I hit 200 million.

As summers getting hotter over here, not running all out.

Cleared 50,000,000 today. Cool. 🙂

If I can keep the GTX 1070 and both GTX 970s online and running, I can steadily gobble up 1.4 million PPD, which is pretty nice. I keep losing production to various hardware reshuffles and upgrades, though, as reflected in the graph attached.

It also seems like some WUs just plain run less efficiently than others. The GTX 1170 generally wants to run at about 800k PPD, but sometimes it will run not too much better than half that, and the only variable I can account for is the difference in WUs. 😕

Too bad there isn't a "silver-plus" badge to put in for at 50 million.  🙂

I packed my old PC (front view Teamviewer) in the cool basement where it can now run 24/7 without my wife being annoyed. My new Ryzen 9 3900 meanwhile runs in the living room and folds when I'm not playing.

Halfway to GOLD!

Hit a new daily high (1.1M+) too thanks to getting my old media serving rig up and folding. Just gave up on trying to get my old Radeon R9 280 working with Linux and just went with a non-activated Win10 install instead.

At this point my life is basically bouncing between rank 32 and rank 37 until its literally impossible to go higher since all the inactive folders are gone out of the top 30

Also it's crazy to think that less than a year ago, only the top 100 had points over 100M, now its about the top 1000.

I tend to hover around the 5m (PPD-24hr average) on that list lol. I've pretty much had my PC running 24/7 for a while but today I decided to turn it off for a few hours while I was out just because of how hot the weather has been yesterday and Friday, OMG my room was so warm even with extra fans and windows all open - with no wind at all outside, it was concerning me as all of my gear near my PC was really warm to touch.

 

Anyways, that's me at #21
