Bill Gates Funding $2 Billion for Energy R&D

Bill Gates has turned his attention towards our global energy crisis, which he thinks can also be fixed with better R&D. And, yes, he’s going to fund it.

 

Gates' funding towards this research is a great idea. Our large scale energy production hasn't had that much innovation as of late, while our power consumption will continue to rise. Sure people are working on fusion power but that might take a while, so investing more money into research can help speed up the process.

Oh this twat again, damn Bill Gates.  I haven't bought any Windows products from this Liberal loon for myself since an HP pavillion that I pulled a key off of and have changed it to Windows 10.  I use it for all of my systems now.  He told Africans he wouldn't help them with a water shortage crisis unless they employed a population control.  His idea was to have them abort their children and take BC pills, he's a monster.  My least favorite person on the Forbes list.

I see a picture of a tokamak. Be good if he invested in ITER or NIF. Especially given the US pretty much constantly trying to pull out of funding both.

I think that's the inside of a fusion reactor prototype. Not quite sure.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Yep, its the containment chamber of a Tokamak type fusion experiment. Think it might be the one the UK has undergoing a refit at the moment.

Yeah we are trying to pull out funding, but we're too busy dealing with Obamas screw ups, the trillions of dollars of debt he's given us, and the welfare we have to pay for because people are too lazy to work nowadays.

At least we now know that Trump has a chance of getting elected when there are people that are so blindly against R&D, science, climate change prevention, renewable resources, etc. just because those things are usually supported by and based on Liberal ideas.

 

 

Those links do not look reputable at all. But suppose he actually said that it would depopulate the planet. I have absolutely no problem with that if it means that those that are alive would have a much better life and it would mainly depopulate poorer regions. It's not like he's actively promoting killing people... Just educating them and helping them live longer, better lives.

Look at most high developed countries, there are more people dying than being born, so the population is decreasing.

Bill Gates sees the reason for this in the low childhood mortality, so with good healthcare and education to birth control, he thinks that the birth rate would go down in developing countries, so fewer people will live on this planet.

What is wrong with fewer people on the Planet? We would have enough food and Water to supply all and won’t use as much resources. I think it’s better to only have 3.5 billion humans on earth, which we could easily feed, than 7 billion with hundreds of millions hungry!

I just wish that the government money going towards research actually all made it there. It always seems like theres these stats of "30b in government money goes towards this. Of that 30b, 5b goes towards the actual research". Private funding does seem to work better.

That's fine by me, I'm happy sitting here with my free healthcare, freedom, and low levels of corruption. About the only thing the USA leads the world in is military spending and incarceration rates. 

 

Maybe America should focus on improving the quality of life in America as apposed to bombing the Middle East for peace. For instance, Obama care and FTAs.

While your original statement would have been correct had you just said "He isn't ALWAYS doing good, but he does more good than bad" then this would have ended smoothly. After all, no humans are without "sin". We make mistakes, and therefore, we can never "always do good". We can only try to.

 

However, you just googled "Bill Gates Evil" and happened across what you thought would be a damning article because it stated "wipe out humans". I am serious. Go google "Bill Gates Evil" and you will see that archive result. It's the 7th one listed. You didn't even read it either. Now you've dug yourself into a hole, so you are trying to deny it and pretend its not true. Sad fact is, you are wrong. Best way out of it is to simply apologize, admit your mistake, and learn from it.

 

Since you and I both know that won't happen, i eagerly await your response to me. I am sadistic enough to get a thrill out of these kinds of things. :)

Private funding of large scale endeavors that are largely charted in unknown territory won't work well.  When you can't quantify your efforts in monetary gain, private investors usually walk away.  Governments are better suited for walking in the fog... ofc government funded R&D is at a low, with all the corruption and war sucking up funds.

I second this.

Take space exploration for example, governments charted the unknown and established the basics of low Earth orbit and now we've private companies assuming those responsibilities. This allows said governments to *hopefully* push out further yet again into the unknown.

Anyway, Bill Gates adding more money can only be a good thing. Need to increased the budget and speed for finding alternative energy solutions.

I love idea of Cold Fusion, but I don't think it has been reproduced in many years. Haven't really researched much these past years.
