Seems so, need 67 cores to match a 13900k. So I've added equiv 3x13900k. Damn that feels so bad, modern hardware damn.

I will get the lappy going next week.  Got to deal with drill this weekend, so not fond of leaving the lappy alone.

If I can figure some way to rig my PSU closer on the other side of my case, I will see if I can wake up my 1950X to join in.  I really either need to sit down and make longer cables or just order those darn extension by now for the PSU.  Draw backs of a big case.

Memory usage has more than halved when running just ECM WUs and avoiding P2s, and my laptop is far more responsive as well. Might be worthwhile making the switch if you have machines with less than 24/32GB of RAM.

Desktop 1 : Ryzen 5 3600 (O/C to 4Ghz all-core) | Gigabyte B450M-DS3H | 24GB DDR4-2400 Crucial(O/C to 2667) | GALAX RTX 2060 6GB | CoolerMaster MWE 650 Gold

Desktop 2 : i5 10400 | 32GB DDR4-3200(@ 2667Mhz) |  EVGA GTX 1070 SC 8 GB | Corsair CV450M

Laptop : ASUS ROG Strix G17 : i7-10750H, 16GB RAM, GTX 1660Ti 6GB(90W), 1TB NVMe SSD

I have been out of town sense the start, so I haven’t been able to do much except team viewer in and dump my bunkers. The main machine is back to bunkering some on the GPU and the server is wide open yo-yo.

When I get back home on Monday I have another 12ish cores from laptops I can get on CPU and one old workstation laptop with GPU.

Do we have an idea of what members we have spread across the various projects?  I think the announcement on WAN today may get more people signing up.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum. New to the LTT forums. I need help with Boinc and the pentathlon.

I am not getting any tasks for the Bonic / Rosetta@home thing that is going on right now mentioned in the live-stream.

I already had a Rosetta account and joined the LinusTechTips_Team. I downloaded and joined the project in the Boinc Manager. I can add the project but it doesnt do anything. Checked Task Manager and sure enough its doing nothing.

Below will be the log from the manager. Is there something messed up that I cant see? Just in case I normally use Folding@home. I made sure it was closed down to check if its the problem.

Rosetta isn't one of the current projects, suspend that project for now. They also have periods when they are out of work units pretty regurlarly anymore. Setup guides with screen shots on first page for yoyo and other relevent projects, which may be more helpful than my steps lsited below.

  • You want to add yoyo@home, under tools - add a project.
  • You will then have to go to the yoyo@home site, https://www.rechenkraft.net/yoyo/, login with same credentials that you used to in boinc manager,
  • go to your account
  • view or edit yoyo@home preferences
  • Edit yoyo@home preferences
  • Select only the ECM tasks, save
  • on the projects tab on boinc manger select yoyo@home and hit update to make sure it's synced with new settings

Yup! Just make sure you're on the right project(s) and crunching for LTT, and you won't need to keep tabs on it for a while. 🙂

I forgot to mention to make sure you join the Linustechtips Team for each project you run. This would be done on the projects website.

I'll have a bunch dump in later tonight for all the projects. I was bunkering for javelin and have been having some computer stability problems (not related to BOINC). I'm just going to upload all of the projects tonight.

Big "depends on the software" but peak IPC is ball park 35% better for FP64 Prime95-like compute. Zen 3 would then have some more clock advantage on top of that.

I seem to be doing fairly well so not as bad as the nearly 3x performance difference indicated by CB scores, but those are well.... not great for this. The Pent makes it real hard to look at RAC of computers too since everyone keeps day(s) worth of points for the start so everything is all skewed and junk data basically. I'm happy with what I'm contributing though, seems to be decent enough.
