Thanks I was following the setupguide that had stale info.. YoYo@home is running fine now. Fans are now screaming 😆

Yeah I've asked @Ithanul to remove that old guide from the post to limit confusion.

Unless a mod wants to do it or pin the guides? @leadeater

Heard the shoutout on WAN show so I decided to join in! I've never used BOINC or anything of the sort before so I'm a bit of a newbie but thanks to the guides I successfully got Yoyo running on 2 machines. Hopefully my contribution will be helpful.

Machine 1: AMD Ryzen 5900X + EVGA RTX 2080ti

Machine 2: Intel Xeon E5-2650 v4 + NVIDIA Quadro P4000

yoyo is CPU only, we have a GPU project, Primegrid which opens in around 30 hours, you can download WUs and process them with networking disabled so you can drop them when the event goes live.

is it just me or have the guides disappeared?

Pinned this topic and moved the two setup guide posts out to their own topic. Also made quite a few edits to the post, I think easier to read and understand now?

Wonder if I should force it to only use ECM P2 to give my memory something to do 🙂

Yes, I did for getting Yoyo up and running!

I am in the process of figuring out how to bunker for PrimeGrid. However, PrimeGrid is barely touching my GPU. I made sure that the CPU was turned off in processing preferences. When I say barely I mean 2% barely. I have a 3080 Ti, shouldn't it be able to do a lot more?

Foldatron is being her usual bullshitter of a system, I'm suspecting a CMOS issue so will see if a new battery and reset will do her.

You need to swap the graph to CUDA or Compute to see if it is hammering your GPU. The default graphs are for rendering tasks

Thanks! You were right. Changed to CUDA, learn something every day, and it's at 90-100%! Next step is learning how to bunker for PrimeGrid.

Hey guys

2 questions:

1. PrimeGrid is only downloading ~4 WUs at a time. I've let it run for a few hours but no change.

2.yoyo has a  bunch of Tasks at 40% and a bunch at 20%. Is that normal?

Hey there, I am noticing PrimeGrid is being stingy, that's just the way it is.

Can you send a screenshot of your tasks page in the advanced viewer so I can check everything out?
