And please don't bring up hunting. The second amendment is talking about security of free state not whether or not you can have venison.

People may do as they wish, there have to be some limitations but people should still be relatively allowed to do as they please.

I believe that one should have the rights to own a legal firearm for defense for themselves, or for their family. If one has no criminal record in the past, they should be allowed to own guns.

I don't think playing games should impact your decision on this. However I believe in civilians owning firearms but the US really does need to tighten restrictions in my opinion. I live in Canada so I'm used to heavy restrictions but we do just fine and we have a healthy gun collection.

In Australia, there was a massacre in Tasmania that killed 30+ people with an AR-15 derivative. A sniper shot 7 people dead from a rooftop in melbourne. Guns were generally banned, including airsoft. No more large shooting rampages in Australia.

 

You can't trust the population with guns, there are too many bad cases.

In my opinion, FPS games do not correlate at all with people's opinions on gun laws... It just doesn't make sense in my opinion.

everyone should be entitled to own their own firearm. while home protection and sport are just two cases. the overall reason that the 2nd amendment right exist is to simply allow the citizens to be able to revolt and have something to fight with when their government brings in the military to try and shut them down. this is why I appose big government. big government leads to revolts. 

 

I am an advocate for students for conceal carry. what they want is for lawful citizens who otherwise are legally aloud to conceal carry to be able to protect them selves on campus, other higher education buildings and in other government buildings. they are not talking about highschool and lower. simply community college and higher.  this doesnt just apply to students but to faculty and staff. I should not be forced to leave my firearm at home because of some silly law that bad guys dont even follow. anther good reason for this is say you are a young lady and your class gets out at 8pm. its not safe.

Any item can become a deadly weapon based on the person using. I'm good enough with a throwing knives that I can hit a target a few yards away. Should those be banned too? It's all based on the person, not the weapon. So I say legalize every gun!

Thought gun violence has gone down in Australia's violent crime is higher than the U.S.A's . Just curious if you knew this.

There's quite a large amount of cases where people have been brutally injured and/or murdered with knives and other objects that were not intended to be actual weapons.

 

People who can't control themselves are always going to exist. There's nothing you can do about it but be smart and protect yourself the best you can should something happen to you.

you make some good points but one major wrong thing you said(imo) because i dont think guns should be something just to have because you think they are cool, it is fun to shoot them at a range but still, shouldnt be a thing you own to be a conversation starter or just a thing you have because it is cool, maybe you have it for self defense, or just to shoot at the range, or hunting.

There's quite a large amount of cases where people have been brutally injured and/or murdered with knives and other objects that were not intended to be actual weapons.

Being that i live in the UK and gun laws are strict does not matter to me. But regarding guns in general people can do what they wish even tho a gun is something that can take a life and sometimes in horrible ways for example the school shootings, people have there right to own a firearm if they want to.

Really does not bother me at all, i have shot guns and i know they can be dangerous if not treated with respect but thats like anything else.

 

Edit: also a side note for the whole killings with stuff, people will if they want to kill someone will get what ever they can lay there hands on that may be a gun, knife, hammer or even there fists if someone wants someone dead they will do it a gun does not change that at all they will just find something else to do it with. Almost anything can be used as a weapon if you put your mind to it.

Guns are easier. Do you know how much effort it takes to swing a sword or machete enough times and hard enough to cleanly kill 20 people? I mean jeez, that's a workout right there.

Recently in city near where I live a kid came to his school and stabbed a bunch of people, killing a few. I don't remember the exact number, knives are still deadly, guns are just long range. In the middle ages a bow wasn't more effective than a sword so how is a gun more effective than a knife?
