What sort of PPD is your 1660 Ti getting? I'm getting between 530 and 650K on mine at a non-OC'd 1950 MHz, averaging about 550K per day which feels kinda low tbh, but perhaps it's just the WU's I'm getting.

Here's my numbers:
averages.PNG.2444b1bdb207a90af895868c180ced07.PNG

daily.PNG.55ff5880a62a3e43b05290fb4ed4de40.PNG

I believe the days from 900-1.7 mil were when I had my Radeon VII running as well. On their own my 1660 Ti and 1050 Ti seem to push around 600-800, almost 900 depending on the WUs. My 24hr average will still be skewed by the days I ran my RVII, IIRC it takes a week or so to update the average or something like that.

Here's the GPU stats for my folding rig:
gpu.thumb.PNG.8e9c3d8ca26f2553328a77756e1730bf.PNG
1050 Ti usually sits at 99%+, the 1660 Ti hops from 70-100, usually stays in the high 80s or 90s on utilization, and temps wise neither card ever breaks 60C.

So if your 1050 Ti is hovering around the 200K-ish ppd then that sounds similar. The 1660 Ti is a great card... But it's annoying that it's takes such a big hit on the majority of the current WU's. I'm getting about 150K ppd less than I was a few months ago, unless I strike a 14180, then I'll get 670k-ish ppd   ?

I finally got that Gigabyte RTX 2060 Ti Super GAMING OC and dropped it into my desktop, replacing my Red Devil AXRX 590. I went from ~450kppd to ~1.1Mppd at the same power usage. I would have gone with the white version of the card to match my case, but the black version had a coupon and the white version lacked a USB3 port and one other small thing I thought I might use in the future. I also rotated the top fan so that it's an exhaust and the temps in general are happier. We'll see how the dust handles it long term...

Why not use both then get 1.5M PPD? ?

1.1M? That's almost as much as my 1080 ti. Time for me to upgrade my gpu I guess...

I see...

Depending which model it is you could probably run both the RX590 and RTX2060Super off it, assuming it has the PCIe connectors to do so. I run two much more demanding cards and top out at about 550W power consumption.

I'd like to put my RX 590 in my HTPC and fold with it, but the case is half height so I'd have to get a new case like the Node 202. If i put it in my server, I'd have to replace the power supply as well because the 430W PSU there is at it's limit.

With an OC'd 8086K in the same case? Even if I did have the connectors, I'm afraid my UPS would melt. 2060S is topping out at ~210W (need to OC this still), the RX590 topped out at ~185W, plus my 8086K commonly hit 150W while folding just working on common tasks... Plus ~20-40W for the rest for the system... Yeah, my little EVGA 650W might still be in her lane... But no 4th PCI-E connector so no dice.

Really? That seems awfully high considering you're yet to OC it. I thought the TDP was around 160w?

About 160W for the RTX2060. The RTX2060 is a little more, closer to 200W. AIB cards with factory OCs might hit 210W under the right circumstances, or higher if you change the power limit.

Probably not that high during folding though.

Well it iS a GAMING OC card, after all. GPU-Z says it's pinging 200W folding and the stress test put it at a peak of 210W, 2010MHz (leveled off at 1950MHz), and 77C. As it's already pre OC and built for GAMING, I'm assuming I don't need to do much, if any overclocking. GAMING OH YEAH ?

But on a more serious note, I thought the 2060S was around 160-180W as well which is why these numbers confused me, but looking at the frequencies and temps... I don't know... I need to go watch a few more GN and JayzTwoCents videos about it I think.

Ahh, ok fair enough ?

I was just basing it on my own card, which is a 1660 Ti Gaming OC, which actually comes in about 8w under TDP even when boosting (~112w (TDP = 120w))

If you just want to see it put to good folding use, I'll volunteer to put it to use.  No graphics card in my current folder at this time.

Otherwise…get to upgrading that PSU.  :P

Depending on your card’s power-Limit and the over Clock applied it can go above 200W but with the WUs we’ve been getting these days my EVGA RTX 2060 Super XC Gaming has a max Power Limit of 215W. I’m running it at 215 W and a +65 on the Shader Clock:

I would double check that with nvidia-smi (don't remember the command to do it in windows) because my 2070 is oc'd and even though it has a 250w power limit when checking it, it doesn't pull more than 185 most of the time.

I've ran SLI, OCed 1080s and an OCed 8600K off a 650W PSU (EVGA G3) just fine. Unless they have a really hungry CPU, a 2060 and 590 should be fine on that PSU. Though like you said, depends on the model.

here's where I flex that I may or may not be an idiot but anyways I'm running an EVGA 1600W T2 in my folding rig so defo on the better quality end of EVGA PSUs

Everything you need should be in here:

  • enable CoolBits 2 & 3 (values = 4 & 8, total =12)
  • enable persistence mode so power-limits stick between WUs
  • crank the power-limit to the maximum
  • apply a stable over-clock (offset) to the shader clock
  • set a manual fan speed if desired/required
