I'm buying 4 of those; one for myself, for my wife and my future children

AMD has never said the X399 was going to stick around.

noticed they only talked about 4 gpus, seems odd, did they reduce the amount of lanes ?

Not sure, but I hope they can pull it off without sacrificing scalability

Ahh, people in the comments saying that Ryzen 3000 will use PCIe 4.0... Such intelligent folks indeed

PCIe 4.0 will be Epyc 2 and the recent Power servers. Be interesting to see AMD ahead of Intel on that for a bit.

We might see AM5 early or a AM4+. But I'd be surprised.

No, that Ryzen 3000 will RUN on PCIe 4.0 is what I meant

14nm IO die and 7nm CPU chiplets, so AdoredTV was correct.

(don't know if anyone else said the same)

“Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at.
It matters that you don't just give up.”

were there a clear date given for the transition from X399 to X499? o_o I remember there wasn't any mention of those for some reason

I think Intel has staked out on X499, so I think it's X599 for AMD. Not sure at the moment. However, it'll be Q3 probably 2019. They only got the last 2 TR2 SKUs out the door last week.

It'll have it, but the main effect would be probably more Gen 3 lanes to a new chipset.
