If you have a complaint, concern or question about any moderator action that has been taken against you, please send a PM to me, @Whiskers and/or the moderator in question, and we will gladly discuss it. All complaints about moderation that I have been made aware of have either been completely unfounded or the result of misunderstandings or miscommunication, but if there was a case of moderator abuse then we would consider that to be a serious problem, and deal with it accordingly.   C

I see newer users with more reactions than posts in a short period of time and already have bunch of followers. I have been here since 2019 and I have 0 followers, it seems like people just want to play a numbers game and I'm not for that. I joined because I thought there would be good a place were I and everyone can ask for help on something, or post stuff that matters to the topic of the sub threads, but it seems like some folks just want to get the highest score. And sure, I have given one word replies, but the answers were simple and because that is all that was needed.

If I had never come here, my Pentium III build would likely have never become what it is today. I owe 40% of the build to @BrianTheElectrician, 20% to @Bitter, and 20% to my relatives. Same for my future P4/XP build - the parts that I have from it are Bitter's, minus a PhysX card from @ShrimpBrime. I cannot thank them enough for their generosity and willingness to help me.

 

Also, fun fact: Prior to quarantine, I had never ventured onto an online community. I only joined one because I got my tower from my dad and wanted some help with a few things.

I looked back on my early posts.

I have learned a lot since then.

And I look forward to someone getting a 2nd life out of those parts and enjoying them all over again like I did but unlike myself you'll have the benefit of decades of internet knowledge.

Yeah, I get it. I have a pretty high content count (it isn't immediately obvious), but I don't look at it much. I just like talking with people about the tech I love, and the tech I'm passionate about. Otherwise I wouldn't have joined the forums in the first place. Personally I don't mind people following me, but I don't use this site as a social media platform apart from the occasional status update.

I have learned a lot since then.

Man I wish you where older. There's so much you've missed out on!!! I mean that too.

There's a lot of places that where pretty spectacular that are no longer around.... 

One of them was Maximum PC forums. It was so popular in it's hay day, LTTF would look dead in comaprison.

 

So one of my suggestions is to look for them old overclocking forums. Some have shut down and gone.

Some remain in limbo just packed with information. Tons of it. 

All these people, just like @Den-Fi had moved on. Something else, different forum and change their handle and never tell anyone.....

 

But you, you will be a good teacher of the tech related shenanigan's. You have a strong interest, that will keep you in it for a long time!!

 

For the first 5 years, I was not a PC enthusiast. Not in forums. Didn't even know about overclocking.

I get this hopped up socket A rig. My brother. Big mouth. "Did you know you can over clock that?" 

Me: "No way. What's that?" Shawn "Make it faster. Here's the numbers, dial this up to here and bam! more FPS!"

 

To give you an idea of gaming back in the day.... Holy shit this 256K is blazing fast!! And people cry about 2gb DL speeds. Pfft. gimmie a break. lol.
