  1. There is more to consider than just high refresh rates. I recommend that you read this:
  2. What is your budget and what are going to use it for?
  3. Bad idea, now you have no GPU and may have to overpay for a new one, or wait a very long time for the right deal.
  4. There you go, proof for the people with new builds that they don't need an RTX 3000 series GPU to enjoy games.
  5. If it works, stick with that for now, because GPUs be expensive right now.
  6. Another thread with a "I NEED A GPU" title and the OP wanting a new RTX 3000 series card. If you need a GPU but can't get a new one at MSRP or close, then find a used GPU as a placeholder.
  7. Proof, you can overclock on B series boards for the Ryzen processors. I did not think calling out your statement would cause this chain reaction, I just thought you were malformed on a specific function or capability of the B series motherboards for the AMD CPUs. We are here to learn, help and have fun, if you think telling others to watch and ask some people who are live streaming during a time of the day when a lot of people are at work, just to let them to know that you are right and they are wrong, then you should find a better way to do so. We all make mistakes
  8. "need 3080- 3070" I bet you don't. Okay, here is some help. Buy a used cheap HD 7970 GHz Edition or an R9 280x as a temporary solution. And no, I am not joking, this may be a better deal right now compared to a new low end GPU like the GT 1030.
  9. I guess so, yea, that's a good thing at least, thanks. It will be missed.
  10. I was looking to read some in depth PSU reviews, but the web address seems to not work. I'm reading in other places that the site has been is down for a good while, but no one seams to know why. Does anyone or @jonnyGURU know what may have happened? If it is cost or a low amount of visitors, I understand, but it seems strange that it would just go poof without a clear reason. If the site and reviews are gone for good, then that is a shame, I kinda like the reviews were the products are truthfully tested and examined inside and out.
  11. I agree, installing more RAM is not always going to make things better.
  12. https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-r9-fury.c2736 Based on this, I don't think so, maybe(If that is part of a trade). If the GPU alone is 50 bucks, then maybe try it. Still seems like a good performer though. ALSO, I believe having more VRAM should be better for higher resolutions.
  13. This. Also check this out from @SolarNova
  14. Minecraft Roller coaster Tycoon GTA V(Maybe)
  15. Oof, hopefully the wait is worth it.
  16. I looked up the parts at new normal-ish prices, and It would cost you well over $2000 to build that setup. Make sure that it is real and fully operational before you buy it. That would be a nice upgrade for you.
  17. No, they are both digital. Silly question. Did you download the graphics driver and reboot? Or did you just only plug the monitors in?
  18. My setup, used for gaming, video editing and stuff. Build: https://linustechtips.com/topic/1142393-yay-i-switched-to-amd-price-update CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X with a Noctua NH-U9S cooler Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 Aorus M (Because it was cheap for what it had) RAM: 16GB (2 x 8GB) of DDR4 GEIL Potenza Evo, OC to 3200Mhz GPU: EVGA GTX 980 Ti SC Blower Card HDD: 7200RPM TOSHIBA DT01ACA100 1TB, External HDD: 5400RPM 2TB WD My Passport SSD: NONE, eveything works fine, no need to upgrade, stop telling me I need an SSD. Ok, things be slow sometimes. PSU: Corsair CX650
  19. Wow, hell no, lol, smells like a scam. Your GTX 970 can still do well in many games, so dealing with that for a while longer is not too bad.
  20. Should be Ok, the price is steep, even for msrp, but as long as in works fine that may be a good deal considering the situation right now. See if they would take a little less anyway. Some of the newer games run smoother on 6 or more cores, but a 6700k can still game.
  21. Oof. With your budget you can put something together with a combination of new and used parts, but the performance will be lower than you want and the form factor will be different.
  22. They were over 200 usd about 1.5 years ago, and that was for a used part. So it does seem better than it was in the past.
