Have there been a post that Folding Moonshot sprint 11 is active since december 27? I had no idea so i am going to restart my system tonight to get up and running again, my GPU gets in disabled mode after i put my system in hibernation at night when i'm not actively folding.  Doesn't help to restart FAH-client, only a full reboot of the system.

First I’ve seen of it. It’s apparently 67% done but the stats from the last sprint were mostly broken.

Yes, I don't know why they doesn't make more advertising about it. If I didn't have scrolled down on the frontpage I would never have seen anything about it. And when i checked the stats where at 0% which I thought was strange, tried tro reload the page several times but now it shows 64% and sometimes 0%.

Strange, haven't got any WU:s for Moonshot in the latest 24h even that my "preferred cause" is Covid-19 and the progressbar for the event haven't moved much either. Fun little WU:s otherwise, giving me about 1.1-1.3M PPD with about 60 WU:s a day.

Right now I am chugging away on some Alzheimers-WU so there appears not to be any C19-WU:s in the pipeline.

The COVID Moonshot has been working incredibly hard since it received a $11M grant from the Wellcome Trust to accelerate development of a new patent-free oral antiviral on behalf of the World Health Organization Access to COVID Tools (ACT-A) Accelerator program.

Since Sprint 10, much of the work has focused on optimizing pharmacokinetics properties that required more time-consuming animal studies. We’ve made fantastic progress, and you can hear all about in this COVID Moonshot 2021 wrap-up webinar:

Lots of Failed slots currently. It appears the servers are bugging out again. Can't connect to 54.157.202.86:8080 or getting short responses.

It appears to be just the server at MSKCC (Memorial Sloan Ketterring Cancer Center)

Changing Preference from "COVID" to "Any" and sopping an restarting has resumed getting work.

It appears the mskcc work server has COVID WUs but is glitching and the client is not failing over to other servers as it should but is Failing the slots.

Update: a bad batch of COVID WUs got accidentally released and they cause slots to fail. Pausing and un-pausing can help as can changing your preference to “Cancer” or “Alzheimer’s” but sometimes only a reboot will fix things.

The scientist in charge is aware of the issue and apologizes and hopefully the bad batch will be done in a day or so. He’s hoping to get the next Moonshot out Monday.

Has anyone been having an issue the last few hours of F@H not crediting points/WUs for the last two updates? My rig seems to be folding fine according to the logs (no warnings or anything)... (I can post the log on request, I just don't feel like pasting a massive wall in a spoiler)

It's entirely possible that I misinterpreted/misread your topic and/or question. This happens more often than I care to admit. Apologies in advance.

Seeing similar on my account for the 12pm, 3pm, and 6pm updates.  1, 1, and 0 WU when normally i have 7 to 14 per update.  Checked the top 5 on LTT on EOC and all have the same drop-off in the hourly charts.  Possibly just a hiccup on the F@H API or the EOC server.  Will likely have a big catch-up update whenever it gets fixed.

Yeah, that's what I was figuring as well. I wasn't 100% sure whether the dropoff really was affecting everyone else, so I just wanted to make sure.

Nope, not cool at all.  In fact it’s the hot water line, specifically the valve that feeds the line to the humidifier on the furnace is leaking and the water is travelling along the 1/4” line until it hits a joist, dripping onto the furnace vent stack, then onto the floor. Went over to check one of my rigs and got a wet foot, looked down and went oh crap. Looked up and noticed the leak was right above the shelving unit that has most of my computers on it, their UPSes and the core network switch.

Powered down all the systems and moved everything out of the way to install some buckets until I can get to Home Depot in a couple of hours to pickup some supplies. I’m not even going to touch the crappy little valve until I have the fix in hand.

Of course I had to dismount the core switch and re-install it behind the furnace to get the rest of the computers in the house working or there would have been hell to pay.

Its amazing just how much of life these days requires connectivity. No land line, no Streaming Services, no Messaging …

Yep.  I make everything as disconnected for function as possible...but even with that, connectivity needed.  We VoiP without cell phones, so that's always fun™.

Glad it is as simple as a valve, despite the scare.

FSCK. Leak in cold water line above all the computers and network hardware in basement. Going dark while I do some plumbing ...

Plumbing job done:

LeakyFaucett.thumb.jpg.56757578b27bedaef058a56159f9aeef.jpg

Old crappy T valve with 1/4" fitting to Humidifier supply line replaced with a 1/2" Shark Bite Brass Push Slip Coupling. Haven't used the Humidifier in years so the valve was turned off but obviously leaking and the 1/4" PVC pipe started leaking at the first clamp where it was secured to a joist right above all the computers 😱 Luckily the leak was traveling along the line then dripping just in front of everything or I'd be having an awkward conversation with the Insurance company.

Dried the floor off and I'm letting it sit for a couple of hours to a) check for leaks and b) wait for an approved Maintenance Window (i.e. when "She that Must be Obeyed"© goes to sleep) to reinstall the shelf, install all the Computers, UPSes and switch and re-connect the network.

I managed, in the interim, to get 2 of the 4 Distributed Computing rigs affected running in other locations so my production isn't down too much ... not that we can tell with the stats outage.

...to install some buckets...

Sorry for the water woes, but I love the wording of "install some buckets". Last year we had some new maples put in and I said on a phone call that we were having tree's installed. On a related note, maybe basketball announces can start referring to a particularly prized player coming off the bench as going in to install some buckets or install some points. I just find that the IT community uses that exact word more commonly than layfolk.

Hello everyone!

What a month I have had, been in the newspaper, kinda went a little viral in my small town with my charity and I've even managed some downtime! I'm still feeling like shit from having covid mid december so that's no fun. I've not been folding at all recently and with the power prices in the UK it isn't looking like I will be doing so anytime soon. I'll probably throttle up for any events but apart from that gotta stay dormant for the sake of my wallet. the gov still isn't giving me disability benefit and I applied for it when I lost my job in september. Isn't that fun.

Anyway... How are you all? Hope you've had a good January!
