So I had been using a ThinkBook 15 for my work computer for years and it's always had this weird problem where if I put to much of my finger on the trackpad it stops working.  Honestly I thought it was a hardware problem but I didn't care enough to get it fixed because I use a mouse 95% of the time anyway.

When the time came to upgrade my work laptop my boss decided to get 4.  This exact same behavior is happening with all of them now.  Right out of the box it uses a standard Microsoft driver so there's really no settings that can be changed.  At first I thought it was something like Palm rejection so I started googling and the way to disable that is either from the driver (for non Microsoft) or by disabling AAPThreshold in the Registry as mentioned here.

Unfortunately that didn't help at all.

The problem is the same in Windows 10 and 11 if that helps at all

Anyone have any thoughts?

This is gestures.

So if you put 4 fingers on your track pad and slide to the left or right, you can change your desktop.

3 fingers changes windows as if you were doing alt+tab

The whole palm rejection thing is if you were typing and then immediately used your trackpad, which is an issue when gaming as you are using both at the same time.

wouldn't gestures be if there was more than 1 finger?  I'm talking about 1 finger.  If i move around with jut the tip of my finger everything works fine but if I use the "pad" of my finger nothing happens.  The same applies if i hit the track pad with the side of my hand, that's why I thought it may be palm rejection.
