I'll have to get a pic of my engine bay later. been a while don't have a current one.

The last time i took a pic my valve cover was black but I never painted the one on the "new" engine I put in a year and a half ago (I've put over 21k miles on that new engine so far.. still holding up :) ) so it's back to normal lol

A couple things play into the reliability here:

 

Infotaiment issues is something Honda was struggling with. They're shifting to an android based infotaiment capable of OTA updates to more conveniently patch issues. However, not all issues can be OTA patched. Like the recent recall of Accords and Insights needing an update for the back up camera. 

 

NVH. Honda is not great, although getting better with NVH. There were a very small number of higher trimmed Accords with rattling HUD units. The units have been fixed, but there still might be cars out there where the owners don't notice or care.

 

And finally the biggest issue IMO, Hondas shift to indirect TPMS monitoring is really annoying. Creates false positives or even inability to detect a low tire. The algorithms involved with detection is extremely flawed to the point where adjusting tire pressures will set it off 20 minutes later after a service. The system is so finicky that Honda requires us to replace 2 tires at a time, and only use OEM tires. Even a brand new car off the lot gets an unrepairable puncture, we are told to recommend 2 new tires because the ones that Honda offers may be manufactured on a different line than the ones equipped. That said, Honda recommends that to CMA (cover my ass). I've seen some Hondas with different tires and aftermarket wheels without issues. Some cars off the lot with non stop false positives of the TPMS system. Its a mess

 

Mechanically, Honda is still very high up with reliability. Theres the CR-V oil dilution issue, but I can't really say much on that. Odysseys are still nothing but issues, that hasn't changed since its inception.

I think the Bolt (EV-only) is still going strong; it's super popular here at least. I have driven a friend's Bolt and it's actually a car I'd consider buying. Great utility form factor (vs Model 3), excellent range, scoots pretty well, doesn't handle abysmally poorly, and gets carpool sticker.

 

Also, spent turkey week driving around FL in a NC Miata. Still want one / an ND. Was fun dodging the brodozers

CTS isn’t mentioned, and is probably more popular then the ATS.
