Wow car thread was certainly be quiet last night. My buddy got a Nissan Frontier the other day with the 3.3 V6 SOHC and wants to know some Cheap and simple performance upgrades. He just did a whole new ignition system and oil change so that's out of the way, and the timing belt is in good shape.

My dad got a new car recently (Fiat Panda Cross) and now that it's cold every morning the back right door won't open from the outside until the car's thawed out, so typically you have to open it from the inside when you set off from somewhere, but once you're there it will open from the outside, but only if you lock and then unlock the car. Really weird. Also it's a 0.8L engine, but somehow sounds really good xD

The basic bolt-ons. Intake (CAI - cold air intake) and exhaust (headers, high flow cats, cat-back etc.). That'll help it breathe a little better. Beyond that, you're looking at big $. All depends on how far he wants to go with it. ;)

Woooo more ridiculously stupid changes being made in NASCAR. The only event I've gone to in person was the truck series when they came to Mosport, because road racing is so much more interesting than ovals. Looks like I wont be going this year.

I respect the skill it takes to be truly fast in NASCAR (WAY more so than most people would think), but I now officially hate the series for what it has become. 

 

The "caution clock" has got to be one of the most stupid ideas in motor racing I've ever heard. NASCAR, as far as I'm concerned, is officially dead to me.

In all seriousness though the cars are kinda neat. Blocks cast by Cat that Rev to 9k.

 

Yeah, they're still old-school small block V8's with single cam, push rods, 2 valves per cylinder, and carbureted making 800hp+ and rev to 9000 all day long. :D

 

Unfortunately rules and marketing have ruined it. :( It's no longer a motor sport, but a business.

well, It looks like the Tundra won't be getting a new frame. I was hoping... It turns out they only replace the frame if there are physical holes in it. Ours doesn't have holes, just chunks flaking off.  :ph34r:
