Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

It gets quite hot here and it's mostly coolant. :(

There's something cool here - you just can't see it.

It'll probably be fine. Usually toyotas aren't that sensitive and they probably expect some people to just put straight coolant anyways if they don't know lol

In loving memory of my old Focus, I have turned the front grill emblem into my most prized fridge magnet.

@chaozbandit The zonda R has a chassis number on the rear subframe (you may not be able to see it) and on the top back of the interior. But it may just be easier to ask xD

I squeezed in the shoot this morning. None of the staff there were able to open the rear deck or doors, so I was unable to check the subframe or otherwise. Maybe some other time. It will be heading back to LMC in a couple of days, so I might make another trip then.

I almost fell on the thing trying to get these pictures, I"ll have you know.\

mk3 supras are risky unless you know how to work on them. 7m has headgasket and lower end issues. Its a good motor otherwise.

That would have been an interesting jalopnik story though :P. The pictures are awesome, I am really jealous I have always wanted to see a zonda r.

I could have sworn ours had the tricolore stripes on it, but the body was all bare carbon like their Huayra when I went. I've known about the car since 2014, but this is my first time seeing it.

Edit: nope nvm, confirmed exposed carbon

I don't know what you're looking for but I'd stay away from the supra and the beamer. Also they are automatics which I don't know if that bothers you or not.

I'm looking specifically for an automatic as I can only afford one car for a long while and will be driving for a few hours a day in heavy city traffic, eventually I'll buy a manual project car

@RevoltTrain

you should get an SC400. some people say it's the best car Lexus ever made. (the 1UZ is one of the best motors Toyota ever made too. the non-VTTi were a bit better than the VTTi models however)

plus, V8! and it doesn't get terrible MPG either (mid 20s highway)

I wanted on for a long time, so that's why i know so much about them. ;)

@warmmilk @vetali pretty sure my left rear caliper adjustment gear thing isn't supposed to look like this lol

image.jpeg

I'm gonna repeat what a few other people have said, u don't recognize that as a brake part... What is that exactly? E brake?

12 hours ago, bcredeur97 said:

Ok so now I'm really confused. It seems like both the pads and rotors I ordered for the rear of my Miata are wrong.

The rear rotors are slightly smaller than the ones on the car and the pads are shaped differently and the new ones don't fit at all and have a smaller surface area as well.

Didnt take ale the rotor out of the bag but it does look smaller to me.

:/ now I have to deal with returning these to three different companies sigh...

And I don't know what to get anymore... I have a 2002 Miata SE which doesn't have sport suspension... Help would be appreciated.

Yeah that's weird... Does the pad fit into the caliper? Maybe, and this is a big maybe, the previous guy put on the wrong stuff?

I'd post this over on the Miata forums, they'd prolly know better...

in other news, I went to the local formula drift event today, met Mike Kojima of MotoIQ and geeked out a little when he said I was smart :D

pretty good event, but nothing crazy like last years Justin Pawlak and Tyler McQuarrie crash

@warmmilk even just looking at the Axxis pads though I can tell they will be very good. The friction material is noticeably more rough and grabby than anything I have ever seen before.

And they just seem to be made well.

Haha, you've got some great eyes there!

gonna return everything first though, at least I have time.
