"Sky Pollution" My white 760t build. Rebuild/upgrade.

Vendetta

WARNING: Photos are NOT going to be great, I'm using my phone and I'm complete shit at taking photos. Also the build name is cooler than the actual build.

So this is going to be a rebuild of my system that I've had for a little over a year now. For the longest time I was using an worn the fuck out Antec p180 case, which for its time was seriously amazing and with some modding could still be an awesome case. I don't have the time to do a heavily modded case and have my system down for the whole time while doing it.

This rebuild really came from me planning to donate my Hyper 212 to a fellow LTT member (@tmcclelland455) and I was going to use that as an excuse to buy a new cooler. Well the Antec only has 120mm fan mounts so liquid was out of the question in that case but I REALLY wanted some liquid cooling. So I figured fuck it let me look around for some cases while I'm at it. I remembered the Corsair 760t being gorgeous and how much I wanted it but the price tag was just unjustified so I kind of put it out of my mind. While looking for AIO liquid coolers I was talking to a buddy about what I was thinking (corsair H110) and for some reason I remembered the swiftech H220. I looked it up and it was like $30 more than the H110 and I just was like fuck that I'll stick with the H110. Well I did some more digging and found the H320 which has the 360mm rad and I just fell totally in love with it. It came with a hefty price tag but my buddy just told me to splurge and get it so that is EXACTLY what I did haha I even convinced myself that you know what FUCK IT I'm going to splurge and get the 760t also. And well here we are. Also the name came from the fact that the primary colors are white and blue but the motherboard and GPU PCB are a fucking shit brown, which totally ruins the build but I guess makes it sort of unique I hope lol.

Parts list:

i5 3570k, hopefully going to be running at 4.8ghz

MSi z77a g45 motherboard

MSi GTX770 Gaming Edition 2gb

Corsair 8gb (2x4gb) LP blue 1600Mhz ram

Swiftech H320 360mm AIO liquid cooler

Corsair cx750m psu

Pics will be coming soon!

Like tomorrow soon, I've having some issues with the fan controller and fan splitter but I should have them worked out by tomorrow. I'm too tired since I literally started the tear down as soon as I got home from working all day and just finished the build at like 12am at night.

So here is a pic of my build before upgrade

3570Ks get quite hot over 4.5GHz so good luck!

And, Someone else has my Mobo! It's so sexy!

I don't want to have to upgrade to 4th or 5th gen ever!

It all depends on your volts and how shitty the thermal compound between the die and ihs. So far i get pretty low temps at 4.4 with my hyper 212. And im glad you lime the g45 but I hate the thing lol I wish I woukd have gotten the gd65 or mpower instead. But in all honesty the g45 is in my opinion the best budget board.

The budget version of the G45 was the G41, and, yuck.

Ivy Bridge runs hot, but it depends on your 3570K.

Mine hits 85 on 100% load with 4.5GHz, so that would be it's limit. I also have it on 1.3v and that is not enough sometimes.

So I go back to 4.2GHz at times.

Ivy doesnt really run that hot, compared to sandy it does yes but others not so much. Also my i5 is 100% stable under load 4.4ghz@1.164v so you just got unlucky.

When I was overclocking, lots of people were hitting 83 at 4.4 and 4.3GHz.

So I thought mine was lucky.

Then theres that asshole who has 5GHz on air on the Newegg reviews site.

Yea there used to be a guy on here who hit 5ghz with a $20 hyper 212 lol that was with a 3770k but they are exactly the same chip. But yea maybe you got yours when it was an older revision or something.

Overall fairly clean build. Love the case. The 760t does a good job of mounting that radiator without making it too bulgy. But for me, the case still seems a little too empty :P

Yea I completely agree. I think when the next gen of cpu's and gpu's come out that I like I will set up a full water cooling system in it.

Just a question about the 760t that I forgot to ask: How easy is it to remove and clean the front dust filter? I hope you don't have to remove the whole front panel.

It is the easiest thing in the world. There are like two toggle clips on the top left and right so you literally just push in the middle at the top and it just pops out and do that again to lock it back in place.
