only the video's  title said ""DELETING MY CHANNEL AT 50 MILLION SUBS." In the video he just talked about how broken YouTube was, not that he was gonna delete his  channel. His videos always have silly names.

To me, this was just a publicity stunt to get some more eyes directed to him.

Then you have some media outlet(like Forbes), who actually took the bait gave him exactly that.

I've lost all faith in YouTube creators a long time ago. These new channels over the past year like Ricegum and whoever the next click bait channel is has thrown the YouTuber profession into disrepute. This is the icing on the cake.

well to be fair, in the 10minute rant video where he stated to delete his video he was also complaining about the amount of clickbait content that get's exposure, he did EXACTLY that and see what happened, he proved his point since he got a lot of exposure through this and showed that clickbait videos do get exposed more then proper content.
