Gah. I'm so torn... Right now I have a GTX 980, which isn't enough to drive AAA on my 3440x1440 monitor...
Do I grab a GTX 1080 Classified when it comes out in a couple weeks, or do I put off playing the AAA games for another couple months and get this?

It is efficient, being compared to the R9 390/x.

Do you do any research? The only guy who fried his mobo took no care of his system. The case was a metal piece of junk PREBUILT case like Dell. Looked like he spilt something on the mobo at one point, hair on out, fur balls, corrosion and mold ECT. The system looked like ass. Anything could of fucked up his motherboard and he probably just said that after the rumors came out in hopes of some remedy for him.

Given the prices why not? Someone willing to buy a 850€ 1080 could stretch it to more than 1000€ for even better. To them it's profiting from people willing to but anything that could be better than everything else, more money for them.

Yes, but if you can push them to buy two cards (1080 + a Titan 6 month later), Nvidia will profit even more.
