Microsoft in secret Windows 10 patch redo

The Microsoft Windows 10 problematic patch process gets renewed criticism. Thanks to a sequence of issues with post-RTM updates, the calls for Redmond to rethink its update strategy are getting louder and more urgent.
 
The latest catalyst was last week's cumulative update, which caused problems for some -- chiefly constant reboots. It's now been reissued. Forget '36 -- KB3081438 is the new shiny.

 

 

 
We need options of windows 7 back.. we need full control.. what happens if system does not boot after shutdown..

Called it.

 

Forced automatic updates won't last. While most users may be too dumb to update manually, they are most certainly too dumb to fix the broken update forced on them by microsoft

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs

What we need to do is go to Microsoft with hay forks so we can fork them up for forking up the Win10 OS. IMO, i feel all the decision makers at Microsoft is on some type of substance abuse or have short memory.....Win10 is getting like Win8 just that it has the start menu.

 

For all frustrated Win10 users......

WTF MICROSOFT GET THIS SHIT WORKING!!!!!

It was just a matter of time before this happened.  We didn't have to wait long ...

hmmm was this a windows update problem or 3rd party problem.

my pc is still working fine after yesterdays updates.

my pc is still working fine after yesterdays updates.

So is the virtual machine I'm using to test it. I can only assume that it is an incompatibility with either hardware or software.

Doesn't matter which it is, a kernel update should never break hardware or programs that worked before.

They could've done this differently and with more control via user. They may even have to change stuff in time.

Yup reason why I only used 10 for 1 day then rolled back. Windows 10 is a dog

I reinstalled win8.1 after 12 days of win10, win10 is cancer.

Hey, remember when people were defending Microsoft, claiming that patches wouldn't cause issues because they would be tested by insiders first? What a load of horse shit that was, wasn't it?

I hope they change it soon. Personally I am getting really sick and tired of my PC rebooting all the time and would really like to have the ability to reboot whenever I want back.

Totally called this: I knew always updating on a poorly tested OS was a recipe for failure. You should demand DX12 support on windows 7 instead. Or better yet just ask for games to support Vulkan natively.

Hahaha that's a bullshit statement if I ever saw one. Microsoft release one or two patches that require a reboot since Windows 10 launch and it doesn't force reboots, you can do them when you want or have it done when you're not using your PC. "All the time" LOL.

My desktop rebooted like a week ago and is now asking me to reboot again. That's 2 times too many in the few weeks I've used it.

I have to constantly go back into the settings menu and select a new day it will restart on, because it won't let me postpone it more than 6 days at a time.

And I don't want my PC rebooting when "I'm not using it", because I use my computer 24/7.

Microsoft has been releasing massive updates to Windows 10 to fix bugs and issues. Expect to get more for a month or so, until all the big issues discovered are fixed.
