I didn't get any tech stuff for Christmas, but I did get easily the best present I've ever received.

My son got this for me with his own money, and seeing how excited he was when I opened it yesterday just made my day.

Did my Christmas to myself today. Finally gave in. I have a few little things around the house that are in the "A 3d printer would be nice" category. Oppbevaring really doesn't need an AIO now that it's in an open frame case. I also took out a fan blade on my 1070 doing some...measuring... while the machine was on.

It takes a while for stuff to get to me. I'm sure it's way more than I need for a while, and I'm fine with that because of logistics. Usually when I buy welding nozzles it's 50 or 100 at a time and they last a couple years.

Get one hardened nozzle and you'll never have to take it out... unless it's to switch diameter. Much more interesting to have multiple sizes of quality nozzles than loads of basic 0.4 brass ones.

Picked up a couple of new sanders for my woodworking tool addiction. A Festool RO150 and Festool ETS EC 150/3. Also some Cubitron 3M mesh sandpaper. It all works great with the Festool dust extractor. Was able to finish sanding down another part of my walnut and maple desk and throw on the first coat Osmo finish. Now it's too cold to work in the garage - it's only 5 degrees in there! Anyway, these sanders are a pleasure to use.

Got 2 of them, one with 4570T and one with 4590T, both 8GB RAM and 250GB SSD. First is my linux server, 2nd is bedroom media player connected to a projector. Really nice machines.

Mine had no WiFi but I added an m.2 AX200 to the bedroom one since running a cable to it would be a pain.

I do but powerplay costs moneyyyy. Plus I don't use a mouse pad. Direct on desk for me.

Yeah it costs a lot, but for me it was completely worth it. My G Pro is sitting at 80% all the time, which is probably as good as it gets for preserving battery life. Plus i occationally do some couch gaming and thanks to the powerplay i can just take my mouse away without having to worry if it's charged enough. And as i use a deskpad it's not even visible. If you prefer a hard surface it comes with both a cloth and a hard top, but you can just slide it under your own mouse pad like i did.

It's really nice not having a mouse cable but also not needing to worry about charging!

And instead of other QI-charging methods from corsair etc. it also charges while in use. So even if you by any change plan to game 100 hours without sleeping you won't run out of battery 😄

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Those things are the most POS computers I have ever used.  Maybe you'll have better luck without Tanium running in the background--but holy crap.

The pc power cable connected to it isn't long enough so I am using that kind of as an extention cord.

First wireless mouse. Let's see how long it takes before I get annoyed with needing to plug it in to recharge it. With the RGB disabled like a civilised person and the polling rate at 500Hz the Logitech GHub software is telling me I should get around 79 hours out of it so I should last at least that long.

Been 4 days so far and I'm on 94% battery remaining and it's saying 74 hours (of 79 hours total estimated) remaining. I guess it goes in to standby when idle which saves a lot of power.

lol Ok so I thought i clicked to the newest and was looking through the posts, thinking wow so many people buying 1 to 2 tb HDDs  I mean it's cheap good reliable storage and then I  saw one for a R7950 and thought man this graphics card shortage is bad but hey if it works it works.  Then there was a guy who just bought Arma 2 and still didn't think anything was wrong.

Then I noticed these posts were from 2013 and it all made sense

Anyway I just picked up G.Skill RipJaws V Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin SDRAM DDR4 4000  CL15-16-16-36.   I currently have 2 sticks of 8 gig DDR4 3000 but over the past few months i've been tinkering with my computer seeing just how much performance I can get out of it and now that I know a bit more about Ram and how it works I decided to see how much of a performance boost I can get if I bump up the ram speed.
