This makes far more sense than what we saw before

 

I'm glad they went into detail with each resolution and graphic setting

i7-4790 seems to turn up in quite a few of those CPU recommendations, this game must not be terribly CPU heavy

 

rip gamers who bought a 3900X or 5900X just for Cyberpunk

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

These specs feel like they far better reflect what the game will likely demand, as compared to the old requirements.

I do feel like the VRAM requirement is sort of redundant, as all the cards listed above fit the "VRAM requirement" given below them, as all that come in different VRAM amounts have at least that amount on the lower card.

 

i.e. the RX 470 comes in a 4GB and 8GB variant, but the recommended amount under it is 3GB.

Of course the only one where it would matter is a GTX 1060 and the 6GB requirement, but they already specifically call out the GTX 1060 6GB (and thus not 3GB).

which they should either way since there's not just a difference in ram but in cuda cores

Damn, I gave away my gtx 1070ti for free to my sister. Oh well, might play it with the help of the cloud in the future. I stopped playing but Witcher 3 was so awesome that I have to play it some day.

For sure, it's good they specifically call out the 6GB variant of the card, but that is completely redundant with the VRAM requirement below it.

I understand it's good to be very specific, but it just felt a bit silly.

 

Of course there are reasons to have the VRAM requirement, but there will be little overlap between "cards that fit the recommended card listed, but they have too little VRAM".

Damn those CPU specs are pretty low. Like actually really low when you compare it to what GPU was used. I might actually play this game just to look around.

I can't be all that surprised that the CPU requirements aren't that ridiculous, especially if CDPR is managing to shoehorn this game onto the Xbox One and PS4.

Even with a GTX 1080 and a Ryzen 2700 I don't think I will be able to experience smooth gameplay at 1440p.

IIRC in the Witcher 3 I barely achieved 60FPS on high. 

 

But I will upgrade before I play the game either way.

Only 70GB of space required? That seems low. I was expecting 150GB.

Actual rig is a 4790k with a 1080 so I could do fairly well...but I just pre-ordered on Stadia to see how that goes.

Also in the same boat with GTX 1080. I just spent my money on a 5900x couple days ago because I was still using my i7-5820K and it didn't look like GPU's are coming around any time soon :(. I want to go AMD but I need to wait for a 3080 because RIP OpenCL. Not that I should buy one right now because working as an automotive technician and COVID lockdowns/people working from home is no bueno lol.

If 2060S runs RT on medium natively then I guess with DLSS that can be cracked up to max as well. Good enough for me.

Well the recommended didn't change? Still a 1060 6 GB. 

 

I suppose the "higher" stuff is new? I always just checked the steam page for referencing, and yeah, 1060.

 

Of course for Ray tracing it makes sense to require a ray tracing card... Even tho technically 1000 series cards have "Ray tracing" support as well (for whatever reason and however that works lol)
