considering cpus are still in high demand id assume theyll keep at the same prices, for a while there the 3600 was 155 and the 3700x was 265 but theyve gone way up since those sales, hell just today i was able to sell a used 3600 with paste all over the pins for 165...

 

cant wait for these announcements though. very curious to know what zen 3 brings to the table, an 8 core ccx sounds too good to be true. and i really wanna know how good rdna 2 will be for ray tracing, and how their implementation will work with games designed around rtx (fully compatible hopefully).

I would argue an 8 core for $175 isn't fantastical and actually I'm expecting AMD within 2 years to sell a $100 6 core CPU and a $199 8 core CPU.

 

Also a 3090 killer is not out of the realm of possibility.

you may get them both with zen2 dies if they keep making them 3600 and 3700x could get price cuts.

Nvidia cards despite being officially announced will not have enough availability for many people to buy at launch.

 

We're talking less than 10K global units of 3090 cards at launch.

This sucks a bit if you were sort of already determined to go with new RTX cards. And it's quite likely it'll happen regardless. It happened with GTX 980 back in the day as R9 Fury was late and it happened later with GTX 1080Ti when RX Vega was late. But I have this feeling that even if RX 6000 series is an excellent buy, I don't think RTX 3000 series buyers will feel burned. I think NVIDIA showcased good enough that I can't be disappointed either way. Unless AMD pulls RTX 3090 killer for 700-800€ then I'll be shocked. But something tells me that's very unlikely...

How would you feel about a potential 3080Ti killer for $999? Because it's very likely that's what we'll get.

I was hyped, but no longer. Now I'm starting to think Big Navi gonna be lackluster. Oct 28th? Like, the GPUs are literally launching like 2 weeks before consoles. Weak, lol

we got dates of announcements and because they are not trying to compete with nvidia's launch tells me that they will be attacking the mainstream cards again, meaning the gpu launch from amd has nothing to offer for my price range. CPUS on the other hand are cool and all but the real upgrade will start with am5 because why would you want to get am4 when there is no upgrade after these new ones

Nvidia's doing another paper launch as always. price range or performance goals? cus no one should spend 1500$ on a GPU for gaming.

you asked me why disappointing i told you why...right now i have 2 systems one is main 8700k and 1080ti and a 1800x with rx590 wifes, i need something to last me 4 years again on max so i will be skipping zen3 and wait for zen4 and if a 3090 can offer 2x perf of 1080ti its enough with me

nvidia's board partners seem to be launching their cards alongside the founders launch timing, can we expect that from amd's side too? also, never actually bought an amd card, who are some good AIBs? only thing that's caught my eye is the 5700xt nitro plus so hopefully sapphire has another great looking nitro for this gen

nope AMD doesn't give AIBs info till after they have announced the full specs, AIBs are too leaky. Nvida lied to them this gen so thats why some of the rumored specs were off on RTX 3000 cards. so maybe someone will get some cards out in December but expect Q1 for most AIB

as for good ones XFX, power color and sapphire all can have good models. no one company is overall better

damn i wanted a good card in time for cyberpunk, fml. wish evga made amd cards, that sweet warranty is real nice
