Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

That happens every single day in LA freeways. And then there are people who don't understand how merging lanes work...

Yeah, in general it feels like more California drivers are migrating up here.

Really, it's the Bay Area traffic that's getting worse and worse. People living in the bay area are moving to the valley because the cost of living is so high and they can't afford it, and in turn, means more cars, and means more traffic. i kinda feel bad for my dad, who commutes there 2 hours a day. He's been doing it for 15 years now.

I wonder if I could find a manual valve body automatic gearbox or one with an easy to install kit that fits in the mk2 celica/supra without much modification. Would be epic for quick traffic light drags^^

So, being in the midwest, especially near Lake Michigan has it's ups and downs,

Upsides: Fun trips to the beach

Tons of snow and ice (Winter drifts)

Downsides: We have temperatures upwards of 100F and downward of -20F throughout the year

FWD is awful for how much snow we get

100F not too bad, -20F when you don't have your license yet. Pretty awful

-20F could be a loooot worse imho.

The car I use for work is in not so great shape...

Might be something really wrong with the transmission...

On a brighter note. Saw an E Type today.

Steal the transmission from the E-Type. :P

Speaking of driving, I'm going to try to find an S13 240SX next summer, then make the 16 hour drive down to Denver to go meet FlyGuyGamer. So that's a thing

I'm sure you could cut that down to 10 hours of driving.

Probably, just going by what Google Maps says currently. Speed limits are not my thing. We make hour long drives in about 30 minutes normally, from here to the beach we all go to.

Speed limits are for people with cars that can't go faster.

We've made the drive in 20 minutes before. That's our best run. Top speed the whole way in a 5th Gen Prelude. Top speed in the one we were in was 145. That was fun.

(We go at around 3 AM, so there isn't anyone else on the roads)

Well if I ever wanted to go to the beach here it'd take about 90 seconds, just go down Montana and in to the dirt. :D No water though, which is lame. Worst beach ever.

We love making late night beach runs, we get to do highway pulls, top speed runs, and when we get there, go drifting in the parking lots. Which is always a fun time. Not to mention swimming in Lake Michigan at 3AM

Here the highways are absolutely empty of cops, especially at night, and with long straights, you get to experience full speeds. It'll be a way I test my car next year for sure
