Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Yeah they had to have two models, one with the suicide doors and one with the full doors.

And yaaaaaaaaay, tapatalk being broken. What a surprise. /s

Never seen truck doors open that wide and the door handles would be pretty inefficient for suicide doors... Pretty sure they just took the doors off or two different trucks.

But what I'm thinking is that if you get such a luxury truck, then it wont see much hauling. Which is what I feel the main point is of a truck. $60,000 is the same territory as many luxury sedans, which I am sure will be more nice to drive.

And for off-roading. Then I can only assume that the most off-roading that car will see is parking on a flat of grass or something.

Why wouldn't it see much hauling..? People have boats for example. Granted, most people don't take their trucks off-roading much even with an off-road oriented truck but some do.

Never seen truck doors open that wide and the door handles would be pretty inefficient for suicide doors... Pretty sure they just took the doors off.

Well it definitely does have the suicide doors, otherwise there'd be a pillar in between the front and rear seats.

I thought that at first too, but look closely. Looks like a B-Pillar on the drivers side, and notice the latch for the rear door on the C-Pillar and the lack of hinges on the C-Pillar.

DId you get the Skyactiv one?

I'd like to apologize but I personally disliked the Elantra for poor visibility from within the cabin... I have said before that I regularly drive through really tight spaces, and had the chance to borrow a 2012 Elantra (AT) from a relative...

I had a very hard time spotting obstacles on the front, front quarters, and the whole rear of the vehicle... I liked the way it handled though... but I would not get one just because of visibility issues...

Yeh it has Sky-Active! Also is the Grand Touring i version ;)

That's just a gen 9 Corolla S/XRS wheel... Go to a junkyard

good call. gen 8 and 9 would both work for me. That means my odds of getting one is much higher now.

Now just to go to a junkyard and find out what to do there. I've never been to one so... do you have to bring tools and rip things apart yourself off a random trash car or do they have it all disassembled and laid out for you? or?

8th gen's came with that steering wheel?

I'm pretty sure that the Matrix also came with that wheel too. You are most likely going to find gray ones more easily than black ones.

That Honda sounds badass!

I like the subtle rumbling my Mazda 6 makes.

But in all honesty, I am gonna sell it after school and get a better car. Gonna go back to manual transmission. Not enjoying my time with an automatic one.

Never enjoyed driving an A/T car... Not enough involvement in the driving experience... so little that I might fall asleep if my concentration lapses...

also did a launch attempt (10kph-60kph... 60kph is the speed limit for the highway) in one of the larger highways here when it was safe to do so... never thought I could get the engine of the Ghia to 6k rpm (1st gear, ~40kph)... I returned to my silent driving afterwards...

Taken about 1 month after the purchase.

Owner now for about 3-4 months.

Noticed that on cold-starts the engine is less responsive and driving experience is not as good.

Usually it smooths out as the the car get warmer.
