Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Having heard the GT350R-C rip through 2nd and 5th gear corners, I can definitely vouch for it being a magical engine. Still nowhere near as loud as the C7.R though.

(just realized I don't have my recording up, so this will do)

Doesn't need to be loud to be nice, though I'd add Corsa Extremes for exhaust instead to see how it sounds.

You know. As a daily driver, then I would probably go with something like an BMW M5.

Probably the latest one. Really do like it's looks. But the E39 is also a great looking car.

I'm ever so slowly catching up to you. But yeah, most Americans I've seen are probably too big to fit in one.

We weigh almost the same... I'm shorter by a few inches... My waist is at 33"... which makes crawling out of a trunk easy...

Yeah, lets! (on a side note, I haven't done work in the trunk for a few months now... it's getting a bit messy... might be time for some 'weight reduction'...)

If I could choose any car as a daily driver, it would probably be the 911 Turbo S. 520hp turbo and AWD (for our fun Canadian winters). :D

Who knows what BMW is doing anymore - especially with the 7 series going into composites, and the 3 series going hybrid-awd before 2020 :/

Last night it was brought to my attention that the BMW M70/73 V12s from E38 750LI's can be had for around $400. I think it's time for me to get a new coffee table.

Reminds me of the way you upgrade cars in Forza Horizon

Then suddenly you race against a bunch of slow ass cars on the same class

Who plays forza here?

Much like that souped up Alto RS in my GT2 save file... Beat all the other Altos (Alto Cup special event) by over 6s in the Midfield track...

Yeah, those engines must be wildly expensive to maintain because there are whole engines on ebay with 145k on them for $600.

You can barely even get a chevy 350 block for that price.

Not too bad. My friend's Prelude was pretty cheap to maintain.

Sorry, I was referring to the BMW V12's being expensive to maintain. Honda B and H series engines aren't too bad, they are inexpensive just because they are common. :)

Makes more sense. I'd love to put an H22 and M2YR in a mini truck, to add a bit of power and add slap shift. That's a project I want to do at some point.
