I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Unfortunately at college in CT I don't get much snow, but went up to upstate NY to go cross country skiing, 3 feet of snow here. I do like the color, just happened to be in that color, used 2012 with only 8000 miles, bought last year. Think it was around $12000, not bad for the miles on it.

With these NE Winters, the 4wd is very nice.

terrible idea.

jk you can't really go wrong with one. just avoid one with vvti (even if there's a bump in power compared to non-vvti) bc it's just more complex and iirc they're interference motors, and on a belt driven motor, that's bad news if belt goes. but as long as you're on top of maintenance, it should take care of you.

why you askin?

Good idea on avoiding vvti

I figured they would be a good cars for my long commute to work over really rough roads. And cheap enough/nothing special for me to not care about beating on them too much. That’s all

Cant get anything now maybe later this year. Just a thought really, after seeing matt farahs hit a million this past week

Brake lines are fun, take my advice and just run new line from as far forward as possible and then all the way to the wheel and replace the brake hose too, unless it's super rust free at the hose fitting. I use this flaring tool for 5/16th line and it makes a perfect double flare every time, I run the thing with my air ratchet for speed lol.

But I think I might pickup this master set of the same style just because I'm so impressed with how my current one works.

Toyota replaced the frame a month ago, and replaced all the brake lines, except for the last 18 inches to the wheels. it blew right at the caliper.

yeah they got some pretty plush suspension being a luxury car and all, so i say go for it. the only thing is a lot of them probably have pretty high miles, probably starting at around 200k even, but don't be afraid of it.

what kinda power you pushing through those motors?

wikipedia says that they are pretty much the same. and i think that was a bad idea bc the n/a motor kinda had high compression to begin with. but i think that motor is better suited for smaller cars like my protege, it actually feels peppy.

I heard that the turbo 2.0 and NA 2.0 are the same inside, this true? I've always wanted to slap a turbo on my 626 for shits and giggles but it'll rust away before I'll ever sink that kind of money into it, about 200hp would make that car drive like a normal car though and not feel like that wheezy little 125hp (at the crank!) engine is towing a boat anchor. Still not as bad as Chrysler putting the 2.7 V6 in full size cars like the 300 and Charger.

Built one was dynoed at 198whp at 9psi but still working on it.

Yes they are the same engine just with a turbo kit. The FS-ZE is high compression, the FS-DE isn't that high and is fine for mild boost though the rods are weak. 8psi is the highest you should do on stock internals for reliability.

Ah, well just that section then and maybe a hose if the fitting to the line doesn't want to come free. Sometimes you can carefully use heat but you need very strong heat very fast and then cool down fast again so you don't damage the rubber line.

It is tempting to get one with a 2J just because of the extra fuel economy more than anything. That’s an expensive engine to replace tho if something happens

Yep. I was able to get it free. Barely. No auto parts store has any Toyota stuff in stock though, so I have to reuse the rubber hose for now. Maybe this summer I’ll replace them with SS lines. I need the truck asap because driving a lowered car in a snowstorm sucks rocks.
