Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Wtf is a 365/710ZR540A? Proprietary tire size naming? Lol

i bet you they don't do rim diameter in inches lol. and as for 710, fuck if i know.

They use a proprietary wheel geometry and tire size and special tire mounting method, so only authorized tires, wheels, and installers work with the vehicle.

I’m probably just stupid, but what’s wrong here?

is the bottom ring gone?

Oil ring is completely gunked up. Pretty much the same issue that Toyota had. Oil return holes are too small / restricted. Fix is to put new pistons in.

We've had so many re-ring jobs lately. This is the first one for oil consumption though. Most of the time its the v6s with cylinder deactivation because rarely the consumption is enough for them to warranty. Its 1qt over 1k miles for honda. Actually had another one drop off today for a re-ring. Our DM is pretty good about okaying stuff slightly out of the warranty window too.

so which engines are having issues with the consumption? or is it no specific one?

I do remember the toyota issue. they had that with the first iteration of the 1zz's (prior to 2003)

This is the first one our dealer has done for oil consumption. Usually the re-rings are the v6s with VCM. Fouls the back sparkplugs and causes misfires. My co-worker usually takes those though. Takes him like 5.5 hours and pays 8ish.

The one I am on is an Insight.

Meanwhile talking to my old co-workers at Toyota, they're running an assembly line on re-rings for camrys. Now they got the FRS/BRZ valve recall, plus dealing with transmissions that are grenading off the lot. Makes me happy I went to Honda.

Mildly interesting, but the Ridgeline has maybe the most detailed wikipedia page for a mass production car I've seen

Too bad it's a useless mix between a truck and a car.

it's not entirely useless. it's probably one of the most useful vehicles for anyone who doesn't have to tow heavy loads.

There's storage compartments for tons of stuff, and you can throw big things in the bed without worrying about getting crap all over your carpets and stuff. (honestly perfect for people in cities or big cities who want a little truck)

I actually like it but I know it didn't and probably never will sell well here because no one cares

I don't like the first gen. It tries too hard to be like an American truck. Like the headlight switch on the dashboard, with the wiper controls on the turn signal stalk. With the stock mirrors you can't see where your bed ends because of its awkward shape so backing into anywhere is a guessing game.

2nd gen embraces that its a Honda and stops trying to be something its not, the first gens biggest flaw.

I noticed the article because I was looking for info if there was a difference in VTM-4 gens between the refresh in the first gen pilots. Because I'm losing motivation on the Durango project.

Its a very strange phenomenon for me. Regular trucks I expect the wipers to be on the turn signal stalk. Every, EVERY time I do a lights / wiper check on a ridgeline, I turn on the wipers to turn on the headlights.

The bed just looks so small. Maybe if it was single cab.

So sneaky. I dont recall seeing a black Senna roll through the local dealer, as the three Ive seen are both red/orange and the exposed carbon one.
