Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

The 400 is actually better suited for MSRH, my local track. It's also a lot more fun and a better tool to work on my actual riding skills/lap times.

Also, the 400 is a lot more fun(easier) to work on and a lot cheaper to get track ready. Example: a full exhaust for the Honda cost 2.2k while a full exhaust for the 400 was maybe $650.

sounds like the miata of the bike world

not super fast, still crazy fun, cheap to get parts for and stuff is widely available.

I dont care so much about heated seats as I do air conditioned seats. Those are game changers

the youtuber is b is for build.. he's pretty good.. basically just got done building a car from nothing (his M5 240Z project)

but yeah seats shouldn't be too hard to deal with really.. usually they have hog pins holding the covers over the foam. A nice set of hog pin pliers probably helps a lot.

can rig that up with a peltier, a fan and some ducts :P (would work for heat too if you can make it pull air from the opposite side of the peltier somehow)

Well I learned a thing today. I couldnt find many aftermarket examples of it in use though. I assumed they were all piped from the AC unit like my Uncle's Ford Edge

I did find this whitepaper but thats about it.

I think Leatherseats.com has a kit that uses a peltier. I might be wrong though. been a while since i looked into it... I also remember it being really expensive.

Comes stock in my LC. Quite the game changer with the fan down there blowing air up ur butt. I think Recaro Orthopaed have something similar.

Ironically enough I have Recaro seats, but they're only offered as heated from Ford.

This actually looks really nice. The pads are thin too which is good since my seats dont have much material between my back and the legs behind me so I feel all the kicks :D

I'll keep this on a back burner. Not serious about this mod yet but i'm toying with the idea

I'm really tempted to try these bearings these people make for poly bushings: http://sadfab.com/bushingpackages.html

IN theory, it would prevent any binding..and thus squeaking,, from ever happening with a poly bushing. which seems to be the major complaint with those...

@warmmilk any thoughts?

yeah these are awesome!  I first saw it on carpassionchannel guy's youtube channel. but this guy only makes them for NA/NB... no NC stuff unfortunately...  put they are pricey...

that being said, squeaking and binding is really only a cheap poly bushing thing... Like Energy that just make bushings to fit a car and give no thought to how the suspension moves.  If you get SuperPro or Whiteline bushings (I prefer SuperPro) it won't really be an issue. and then since the NA/NB has steel control arms, you can drill them and add zerk fitings so you can regrease them without having to pull them out.  So this would even solve the squeaking issue on cheap bushings like Energy.  But SuperPro has cuts in them to retain grease much better... I think Whiteline does too but I don't remember for sure... either way, my sister had Whiteline bushings on her STi for over 100k miles and they never sqeaked.  I have SuperPro on my Miata for about 20k now, with a good portion of those being track miles, no squeaks.  My old RSX, now my brother in-law's, SuperPro bushings, over 50k, no squeaks. No zerk fittings on any of the cars.  And both SuperPro designs there bushings with the movement of the suspension in mind and adds relief cuts where needed so the bushing can flex in the directions needed.

on the other hand, I think all of the NA/NB suspension arms only move in a 2D direction.  I know the front does for sure, not sure about the rear.  So you'd prolly be ok with Energy bushings and zerk fittings.  SADFab stuff is still way cooler tho :D

Energy suspension bushings + those bearings for the entire car would be around $500

I mean it seems super pro or white line might be a better way to go. Grease zerks won’t help me, I’m too lazy.

is prothane any good?

its basically just front and rear control arms. I’m pretty sure the rear only moves in 2D as well... up and down. What cars move in more than 2 directions? I cant think of anything now that does?

also I just read that the black energy bushings have graphite in them to act as kind of lubrication, the red ones don’t have this because it discolors them. Prob helps?
