Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

I like both the styling and the motor, so I want to try to find a still running example with relatively low miles. Not looking to swap an unconventional motor in it, rather build it and reinforce it and supercharge it some day. I'll try to do as much of the work as I can before handing it off to a shop, and this is all cost permitting. IT also has to be dailyable as well, without sacrificing comfort and quality that the car had.

Why not just buy two separate cars? It ends up being wayyy more practical.

Because it's cheaper to own one vehicle.. which'll be sitting in a shop being worked on for months.

Two different builds. One is a 98-00 (will know exactly when I get the car) lexus LS400 built vip style-ish, possibly bagged. and it will also be manual swapped. The other will be my fun haver. A supercharged facelifted E39 M5. If one is down for repairs, I still have another fun haver.

I've heard about them through a YouTube channel, it looks like high quality stuff but I'd rather dig around on some forums and really find out.

I was watching Dirt Everyday on Netflix, mediocore production quality, they had some green recovery rope that looked cool, I thought he called it Lizard Skin, S10 build, only 8 episodes. Ah yesssss Voodoo recovery rope. Its all the same to me!

Things that are usually sponsored I'm weary of because they tend to not be the greatest quality.

Less than likely the LS400 will be down because they're built like a tank. But of course there might be times where that tank reliability tanks and i'm left without a car. In that case, maybe I'll just rent a car for a couple days until I get the issue sorted out. By the time I get both cars, it will be good enough to have one car down, so I still have the other to use and have fun in.

Honestly, that seems like a bit of a conflicting build to me (the LS400). Won't a bagged setup cause it to be a bit more rolie in the corners? If you are going to do a manual swap (which I very much think is a great idea), wouldn't it make more sense to lean towards a sport setup?

Sorry, if I'm looking at this wrong. I love cars but am not a gearhead lol. Maybe I'm wrong about the air ride but I thought it had a negative effect on handling but gave a smoother ride. Plus, won't you have to deal with stuff going wrong then? Aren't bagged cars much more prone to failure?

So much potential with that LS400 though. I would keep it as an all year fun car if it were me. That M5 should be garaged during the winter. ;)

Damn, I'm picking up my LS430 in about seven hours. I'm way too excited to sleep. I guess I'll be up most of the night looking at LS430 stuff lol.

You can adjust the firmness of the struts to be softer or firmer, depending on what you want. The main reason I wanted an air ride setup is that you can get on the fly height adjustment, so you can easily avoid speed bumps and steep driveways and still keep your low, and that idk it's kinda cool having an air ride sytem, bc nobody really does it. Maybe if its cost prohibitive, I'll just stick to good coilovers instead and have to deal with speed bumps like everyone else, then maybe in the far future I'll upgrade the system.

Both of my cars can be year round fun cars because in my area, it almost never snows (though sometimes it can get bitter cold), so I can still enjoy them in winter, and especially on a supercharged m5, I can take advantage of the colder air.

or just don't stance the car... it's functionally stupid and IMO doesn't look like anything beyond "hey look at me I want attention"

idek how people enjoy beating up a car like that... if you like the car, take care of it.
