Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

McLaren certialy has more resources, but Koenigsegg seems to make better use of theirs.

That comes with having dealerships and needing to make a quota.

I don't really care too much about the new Ford GT. And this video with it, showing how they took a lap record around the Norwegian track "Arctic Circle Raceway" just shows that they went after low-hanging fruit.

"Oh yeah. We took our car to a track and smashed the old record." The previous record was an 2006 Audi R8. Audi did it in 1:41, and the Ford GT did it in 1:36. So if I'm doing the same comparison with the same car around the Nurburgring, then the theoretical time for the Ford GT would be ~7:30.

I want to look more into the GT to see what it compares to.

Edit: Okay, that research didn't take long at all. Since the Ford GT have only times on three 'tracks' over at http://fastestlaps.com/models/ford-gt-2017

CMP is Multimatic Motorsports home track / test and engineering facility. While the course itself is pretty long with elevation change, the track surface is actually incredibly abrasive on tires.

Edit: technically CTMP is their home track but it doesnt really have the space or scheduling for prototype testing, though they have raced the GT in both specs there.

It's quite strange how it has the same motor as the LS400, but the LS makes less power and torque. Why?

Still bothers me a bit that they have yet to test the car on any more well-known tracks so that you can actually compare the numbers.

They've started customer deliveries so press drives might be soon. I know two local GTs were delivered last month.

You're sure it's 22 and 26 inches wide?

558mm tyre width on the front would be kind of silly. 660mm rear would be even sillier.

LS. But that was without VVT and higher compression. Before 1UZ was retired, they had it at like 10.5:1 for the LS.

Technically the LS should have more power bc larger car. but i wonder if I can tune the LS to make more power, since it's only about like 10-20hp short.

Bought a go fast bits diverter valve. Wanted something better then my stock valve to get rid of the intake noise that wouldn't void warranty. Looks identical to the stock DV valve but with metal internals and I doubt the idiots at my local vw dealership would be able to tell the difference to void my warranty. Should hold boost better than stock too and stage 1 boost levels.
