Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

So tempted to go get this and then swap in a straightpiped twin turbo Yamaha v8 with a manual transmission...

@techswede

I've been at Kareby a few times funnily enough.

I wouldn't get that car though.

Not my kind of thing.

And you might feel like a king but you'll just look like the limo driver. (Which isn't nearly as glamorous)

You wouldn't get that through most drive thrus either.

True.... Well... Id probably go crazy and add a firewall behind the middle row of seats and then put another twin turbo v8 in the back with a ford gt transaxle.

Why not do that on a regular S80 and have one of the meanest street machines in norway?

There's a part of me that really wants to do a VIP style build someday, slammed 1st Gen GS300 with a ridiculous audio system. Yay or nay? I've got ideas for a project car, and the VIP look isn't very common in my area and I want to stand out while it's still a nice build. Finding one in good shape and decent milage would be about 3k. Not really too bad if you ask me

I like the second gen GS better. also GS400 cuz it's fast and V8.

Is there some problem with the current throttle? (Apart from it being drive by wire i'm guessing)

Pfft.. Longevity is for pussies.

Nah. The L67 isn't a huge boost. But it is somewhat stronger than the L36. Tuning it is more of a fun thing on the side.

With the added benefit of having the old L36 on an engine stand if the L67 goes pop.

Just need to figure out the rest of the drivetrain so i have something i can thrash on every day without worrying too much.

isn't the L67 Transverse?

Yup. But with some persuasion it will fit in an engine bay in the right direction

Put the second engine where the rear seats used to be. Or just get a second engine and mount it in the back as is.

The S80 v8 is already all wheel drive so i'd personally just stick to one engine.

Every swap is a headache.. Unless you are boring and go with stuff that is sold in a kit.

I still see myself picking up a refurbished X360 for all the old titles, but a PS4 if I was to buy a new console.

I just hope the next Forza title on PC (FM7) isn't so borked. The last patch messed with physics related crashing, and made it worse.
