Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

You're going to have more time out of HS. You will be able to swing a job and a class load, but you're going to learn real quick that you need to manage that time.

seriously? because trying to balance HS, sports, a job, studying, and 4 AP classes is no bueno. jumbling all that shit is like to trying to juggle elephants.

it'll work out. sometimes you have to sacrifice some hobbies or something. make a plan and take it one step at a time

Well the only things you need to balance are classes and a job. Youre not gonna have sports or AP classes.

'Just' classes and work. Its gonna be a completly different environment.

Youll have more time but youre gonna be a lot more busy. Time management.

sports? i mean i'll do track, but that's about it i guess. and i'll hit the gym maybe 2-3 times a week if i'm feelin' it.

really i'm out of options when it comes to making money in college save for a job, but if i get a job, i won't get time to study/do homework/kill on my laptop or with friends, and without those aspects of college, i'm basically a bust. i wish i can do something with my car, since it's sitting there most of the school year.

Work as a server and be kind, servers make more on tips than actual wage because they're not paid minimum wage

E.G. My girlfriend's average check every two weeks is about $225 or so, she brings home about $75 from each shift in just tips and works a minimum of 4 days a week, so at least 8 days per paycheck and she brings home $825 or so overall every two weeks, $600 just being in tips. And there's days where she brings home more, and you being out west where people have more money you'll likely be paid more. Go for it

sign, i guess renting out my car is a bad idea then. gotta find a way to make extra money in college because tuition is basically gonna suck me dry. but it kinda sucks that my car's just gonna sit in the university parking garage, since i'm not likely to be driving around town a lot, since it's in downtown san jose, and traffic will be a bitch. but i still need my car in case of emergencies, when i wanna see my friends at neighboring universities, or i just need to get out of town overall.

Lol If you rent your car out it'll see more poundings then a sorority chick. It'll also see a lot of air time. People don't care to do stuff in a rental car they'll just let you keep the security deposit and say it's your problem.

Most people wouldn't trust someone who's only been driving for a few years to be their taxi, I know I wouldn't let a teenager drive me but that's my opinion and beliefs that most teenagers suck balls at driving not all though but most.

wtf why are your driving school lessons so fun? though literally, on my first driving lesson, i didn't realize how little gas pedal i needed, so i ended up slamming the gas, and i think both me and my instructor shat ourselves. it was scary.

maybe take a look at this? http://ver1.iconfigurators.com/createShare-I15.aspx?user=51473110&wheel=372328466&config=59727965&tire=0&size=18&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nicheroadwheels.com%2Fconfigurator.cfm%23!lang%3D0%26showallwheels%3D1%26year%3D2003%26make%3D65%26model%3D860%26submodel%3D20%3ASEDAN%26size%3D18%20Inch%20Wheels%26go%3D1%26body%3D0%26tab%3Dwheels%26page%3D1%26color%3D6854%26wheel%3D6068%26wheelimage%3D20573 (but the configurators never do the wheels justice most of the time.)

Its mandatory to take a course tha reaches you how to handle slipper roads, first theres an hour of theory, driving on an ice track then a practical test and after that a theory test. After all this is completed you can then do practice driving all year round.

There's a part of me that really wants to do a VIP style build someday, slammed 1st Gen GS300 with a ridiculous audio system. Yay or nay? I've got ideas for a project car, and the VIP look isn't very common in my area and I want to stand out while it's still a nice build. Finding one in good shape and decent milage would be about 3k. Not really too bad if you ask me

With the increased torque from a tuned L67 that rear end will probably break and take other stuff with it..

Hell the T-5 trans would probably not last long either.. (Yay for a reason to swap in an auto though)

T5 will prolly take it like a champ. However i do want to see some bits of a 7.6 fly apart in a blaze of glory. The metal will just settle to the bottom.

The T5-WC is rated at 330Lb-Ft.. The L67 puts out 280 stock.. With some slight mods i'm at or over the limit real quick..

Only non-headachy part of the whole planned swap is that the computer in my camaro will most likely work with an L67

the L67 is already a big boost over your current engine correct? if so, why not just put it in and leave it stock for longevity?

Meanwhile i will be converting the Express Van to cable throttle which very well might be a minor nightmare.

It very well might be easier to go standalone ECU and cable throttle at the same time.

Is there some problem with the current throttle? (Apart from it being drive by wire i'm guessing)

Pfft.. Longevity is for pussies.

Nah. The L67 isn't a huge boost. But it is somewhat stronger than the L36. Tuning it is more of a fun thing on the side.

With the added benefit of having the old L36 on an engine stand if the L67 goes pop.

Just need to figure out the rest of the drivetrain so i have something i can thrash on every day without worrying too much.
