Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Lol, what’s 2k rpm?

My miata has to stay above 2k rpm pretty much all the time. Nothing below that. But it’s fine, it’s designed to do that.

60mph puts me right at 3k rpm I believe. 70 is around 3.4-3.5k and 80 is right at 4K

That's gotta be noisy.

The shed is officially done! At least structurally. We finished up the siding about noon on Saturday.

Then since we were done so early I took some of the extra building materials and put up some shelving with a tire rack along one wall:

20181103-170429.jpg

Other than some organization it's pretty well complete for the year.

In the spring I'll put some gutters on it just to help prevent the footings from settling, and put a solar panel on the roof to power a few 12V LED lights, just so I can see when I'm inside during the night.

But in the meantime, it feels really good to have this project in the rear view now. :D

debating about getting 235/40R18(ST) size tires for my SE but not sure if they would be too wide for it(9.3" vs 8.5") and winter tires for it are soooo expensive, the cheapest on tirerack costs devil levels of cash(literally $666 for a set of 4) while the cheapest base size is more than $200 less($445) Summer on the other hand is about the same(well technically its summer vs all season because 215/55/r16 has a very tiny selection of summer aka only 3 different tires, so I would be better off going all season)

I am a long way from getting new tires but its so expensive if I were to get ST size tires and I don't even want to see how much RS size tires would cost

AFAIK the ST sized tires should fit on an SE without issue. RS tires are also the same size IIRC, the rims are just bigger at 19" but the width is similar. And if you're going to one day build an RS killer, you're going to need traction to put all that power to the ground!

As for winter tires, I run these:

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=X-Ice+Xi3&partnum=15HR7XI3XL

Narrower, and a taller side wall makes for easier handling in snow.

Also picked up some $95 rims since they were only $20/rim more than steels. (Old pic)

My father ran power out (even though thats technically qualifies it as "live-able" according to my town and an increase in property taxes, shhhhh) so now there's actual outlets in there to run stuff.

AFAIK Scarborough is getting a lot of major repaving on a lot of roads in the north and central because of the new Eglington cross town LRT install and other general maintenance. Not sure about York.

The rack for tires was my dad's idea, so I cant take all the credit on that one.

I thought about trenching power to the shed, but opted against it on account of my laziness. I dont think I'd ever really have to power anything too big out there, so a solar panel and a big marine battery should last as long as I'd ever need lights, plus if I wanted to run a 120V inverter I could for something small. Again, my laziness got the best of me.

To be fair, I haven't really used many power tools out there since it was officially completed, just mostly flipping a light switch. So your laziness is not totally misplaced.
