VESA Mounting Question

Will a 100x100 mm VESA mount work with a monitor that is built for a 75x75 mm VESA Mount or will it be incompatible?

Depends on the mount. Some 100 x 100 mounts have both bolt patterns on them. Does yours?

If it has both patterns it should work fine then. On some monitors the vesa mount maybe recessed slightly so a larger mount may need spacers. However typically spacers are included with most mounts for this reason. 

 

I've used spacers / washers and my own screws from the hardware store before. However, if you go this route you have to be careful that you don't screw to far into the monitor / TV as you can damage it.

If you run into a clearance issue I would buy a tv mounting kit from walmart for cheap. Just use the shortest screws that you can (obviously more than a couple of turns) to prevent using too long of a screw.
