to be fair....... PC`s werent really meant for gaming. Apple were the ones who started marketing towards a gaming friendly market but stopped because they thought the professional market would be better in terms of profit. PCs were kind of corporate and professional utility early on. 

 

I cant site any sources, however ive tried to not make any false statements

While sure, the original IBM 5150 wasn't meant for the home computer market, I'd argue Apple really wasn't caring about gamers either. Most of the home computer competitors at the time were trying to cater to the masses as much as possible to get their computer in the home.

 

Though the Commodore VIC-20 ad seemed to drop an anvil to the head who they were going after.

When you have people talk about stuff that is impossible:

"my computer has a terabyte of ram."

"My phone has 16gb of ram."

 

or when people call a solid state a hard drive. the solid and hard refer to the type of disk(I'm pretty sure). like how a floppy disk is called "floppy" because it is floppy.

i also know some one from school who wants to build a pc to do 1440p gaming at 60fps and is convinced to do that you need the newest i7, 64gb of ram, and 2 water-cooled titan xp's(he wants to buy a pre-built), and i have tried to explain he really only needs an i5 16gb of ram and a 1070, maybe a 1070ti.     

So just people who try to sound smart about something they have no idea about to someone who knows their shit.

ok while it may be possible to get a terabyte of ram you have to have a server mobo and 4 server cpu's(i'm pretty sure) and a server cpu which isn't cheap, as you said, so i know that this kid doesn't have that much ram.

An i5 will bottleneck a 1070. I know from personal experience (and will even bottleneck a 980). Unless you're talking about the new 6-core coffee lake i5-8400.

It can, but it will game okay anyway. I run my 6600k with my fury at 1440p, and it holds up okay in almost all cases at 60+ fps. It's not optimal but it's okay for 1440p gaming.
