Obviously if they added better performance for the same value it would be great. But the point is they don't.

Its pretty competetive now. The tradeoff for a lower-tier GPU is they are not built from plastic crap and have a better OS. Finding similar build quality just isnt possible at that price point. Even Razer is just flimsy compared to the alimunium chassis of the mac.

Exactly. I fully agree you pay a premium for quality. He was saying it would be great if they had those better GPUs, my point was that the price wouldn't work out.

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

Title.

What are some tech-related things that people say that trigger you or other tech fans?

Personally, when someone sys "memory" when they mean "storage" it makes me cringe. I once even had a phone-repair shop employee tell me " the ram is what gives your phone its speed"....

I mean... not to nitpick, but that's not wrong.

Memory is simply a term used for various forms of storage mechanisms in a computer system.

Non-volatile memory includes things like HDD's, SSD's, USB Drives, ROM, etc. This is memory that can be powered off, and the data is safe. You can collectively call this "Storage" without confusing with other types of memory.

Volatile memory includes RAM (Random Access Memory). While in most cases, when someone says "Memory", it's safe to assume they mean RAM, it's not exclusively used in that way.

Also, RAM is one aspect of a smartphone that determines it's "speed" (Speed being a vague term).

/end nitpick :P

oh xD yeah, so they think SSD = "solid state hard drive" somehow... I see now

To be fair, SSDs aren't exactly "floppy"... You could say they are more "hard" than they are "drive" :P

May seem nit-picky, but something that triggers me is seeing rads set up with the fans in pull orientation.

Especially when I see reviewers perform testing with this config and then compare with other AIO/coolers that were tested in push config. >_< Keep it consistent!!!

On that note, in general, it annoys me when people blame the OS or the hardware or something when like 99.99% of the time the issue happened because the user did something.

Also @Ethocreeper, I was reading a post on "The Old New Thing" about how you can execute a couple of assembly instructions in DOS on Windows 95 and it would lock the system. There was an explanation why this was still allowed, but people used this as ammo as to why Windows sucks or something.

Then someone commented with this gem:

Quote

This is one of those "Windows sucks – if I pull the power plug then my program stops executing" variety of issues. You told it to break, it broke. Congrats.

Everything Apple Pro said in his last video that he thinks Airpods are the number 1 Apple product currently that is worth the money. As cool as they might be (actually no they make people look literally look like aliens), $200+ is a lot to justify some (only) decent sounding wireless headphones. Then he goes on to say the next one is the iPhone X which... I can't even... Yea a $1000+ emoji machine... What is with Apple and god damn emojis now?

Yes I went from a 120hz 1080 to a 4k panel and im not going back. I am not arguing that 120 is not butter smooth goodness, but I prefer the quality and pixel density and just better overall panels.

My whole issue is with people saying 60 is unplayable which is a joke.

since i moved to a 165hz gsync panel 60hz feels like 20fps did when i played at 60
to me it is pretty unplayable
