Statements that trigger tech fans.

"the eye can only see 24 fps so its fine to play games on a 30fps tv"

what if i told you that the crappiest gaming expirience is using multiple non-synced similar framerates so lets say your eye is a camera that records with 24fps (wich is wrong since the eye is much more dynamic and has continuous information flow that gets cut down by the brain) and you play a game on a 24hz display with a 24hz graphics output but none of them synced... then your frames will be cut multiple times at multiple places (and most important at the same place for multiple frames) so the picture looks like a cow chewed on it for solid 5 minutes...

but if you would put the graphics output directly in your brain you would see a perfect picture as you have never seen it before...

so how do we actually give you a cood expirience without cutting open your head and smashing a displayport cable in your visual cortex ?

its that easy: if you use a non multiplier from the input as an output, it will look quite good so if you put 100 fps on an 60fps monitor you have more frames at source then cut to 60hz (still cutting frames but everytime on a different spot) it will look ok. This also because you then cut the 60hz down to another 24hz wich is not close to a divider of 60 so you will see a really good picture...

The best way in terms of prices is syncing the gpu to the monitor so you have one less spot where the frames get cut but when you have the extra money you can even sync the monitor with the gpu wich will allow your gpu to be not as powerful to always have 60hz but you still will see a good pictuure.

Most people always look for high framerates but its just as stupid as saying 24fps is enough because the whole thing is about synchroisation.

(since the eye is a very weird visual processor you will see a better picture the higher frames get since you have less chance of your eye catching a framechange.)

"Xbox is better, no Playstation is better, PC master race"

"I want to get a MacBook for browsing the web"

This isn't a statement but many websites for recycling and such refer to the whole PC as the CPU. So "unplug the video cord from the CPU"

When people have more than one anti-virus software...

"windows security features are enough to prevent viruses"

When tech shops over price people for a reinstallation of windows...

"python, as in the snake?"

"Java is the same as Javascript or Jquery"

We literally convinced someone you could download RAM before. Coincidence or not, he is in fact an apple user.

"Why isn't the new Firefox working??"

Actually this is a genuine issue for me. FF57 works flawlessly on all my Linux machines but will not launch properly on my Windows 10 gaming PC. There is a problem with the profiles, which I have tried multiple ways of fixing (following official Mozilla instructions and other suggestions), none of which work. It still says it's already running when it's not and will not retain the settings/changes that I make to the profiles. I prefer chrome anyways, so no big deal.

It did make me laugh though because the other day a friend of mine and I got into a conversation about Linux vs Windows and he was saying how "everything just works in Windows" but doesn't in Linux. Yeah, OK then. 9_9  If I had a dime for every time something didn't work (right off the bat) in Windows... lol.

(For the record, I'm not saying Linux is perfect. Just pointing out that no OS is without issues to some extent).

It might be easy to get triggered by this, but think of it this way: At the end of the day, if it's not your money on the line, let them waste theirs.

People here recommend some AV plus Malwarebytes, which is another AV, all the time. :)

Modern Windows is set up such that it this is true enough. There was an exploit back in 2009/2010 or something that affected Windows 2000 and XP, but not Vista and 7. Why? UAC blocked it.

Well it does not run well on a 2010 Windows 7 32-bit system, that is with other applications all fighting for resources as they put themselves as "efficient" categorically. However Opera runs just fine with a Phenom II X4 840 (yes the shitty version), a 4GB stick of G.Skill Ripjaws V, 1GB Sapphire Radeon HD 5450 (all heatsink), and a WD Blue 1TB hard drive that was partition limited to 500 GB.

"We are taking apart the old Iphone to replace the battery and accidentally pulled out a ribbon cable for the home button, can you walk us through how to fix this" -my sister who lives 2 hours away to me, who has never opened up an iphone.

[ I offered to do it for them, because I have the tools already(pro tech toolkit, have taken apart my old gameboy and a few laptops) and I am confident that I wouldn't brick the device, although I am no professional.]

I basically was like "it is probably ok, just don't freak out, there is probably some way to reconnect it if you didn't actually break anything else. And it was fine as far as I know.

bigger issue was that I was with a friend at the time, meaning I was busy on the phone hand holding instead of having fun.
